I think the NRA would get a huge black eye if they begin spouting their usual rhetoric. If they want to improve their image, a new policy of EXTREME gun safety training as a requirement of membership might be a start.

They’ll just lay low until this all blows over. Short attention spans. Then they’ll be back in full force.

Reminds me of a guy that I knew – name of Wilson.

I think the first cohorts are already softening up the ground over at CBS. A lot of new and temporary nicknames on certain comment-sections. And they all work off the same set of talking points. They even brought back the old classics (black helicopters, Waco, jackbooted government thug).

Another fraction is tasked with muddling the waters. My favorite notion is that the holocaust could have been prevented when the Jews would have had guns. Yeah, right! Ever seen the face of an SA/SS-man, in the movies or in pictures?

But that’s just their Phase-1 strategy: sidetrack, distort, disperse. Oh, and yeah, the number of made up statistics has risen by 23%, while the number of Internet-links went down by 18% (this just was satire, okay?). The same old tricks.

Know what? I hear the NRA has 4 million members. Why not organize a march on Washington DC? I hear the DOD has some Napalm that is nearing it’s shelf-life…

    Almost unnecessary graphic!

But I’m thankful that the “news cycle” mentality hasn’t dulled this issue this time!

Morty, you are sounding a lot like those ancestors of yours that you so vehemently try to disown. I believe they called it the “ultimate solution?” What was that guy’s name, Adolph something?

Read “Ricochet”, and learn about La Pierre and the NRA, and you might understand why there IS a difference between rational gun owners, and those running the NRA.

Quite right, don’t trust the military to provide proper firearm training. They’ve committed untold massacres upon innocents. Better we leave proper training in private hands. Like yours

    Brrr.
    That’s me being reassured.

Oh, come ON! I am certainly no fan of the NRA, but I am sure this nut job did not belong to the NRA, probably did not know what it was all about. He was insane, crazy, nuts, whatever you want to call it. And the cops out there are spending all kinds of time trying to find a “motive”. There IS no motive.

And then use the proposed gun control laws as a hatchet on the gun nuts as a perfect example of how Obama wants to take away your guns.

Now the IRA has spouted their usual rhetoric on 12/21/12. More guns to solve the problem. Armed guards in schools. And, blame for everyone around, except the NRA.

To blame the NRA for this mess is unfair The gun laws worked. The fool could not buy a gun because he couldn’t pass the mental test. The gun he used was stolen. Criminals don’t obey gun laws. If a teacher in this school had a concealed weapon this senario would be completely different. But no one would have heard of it, because the corrupt media does not report when an armed citizen saves the day. Look it up people, it does happen.

    @Senhor Peep

^ I’m with you entirely. There SHOULD be armed guards in every classroom. Also in every church, mall, store, park, and every street corner as well. America has become an insane, violent, brutal society with people being gunned down every day in huge numbers, so what else is there to do but load up and join in.

Blaming the NRA for the idiots who misuse guns is like blaming McDonald’s for obesity. Oh wait, the liberal dummies do that too…
