The ’toon also reminds me of a friend who took part in the Hungarian “revolution” in ’56 and how they “took out” Russian tanks, and America (EIsenhower) turned our backs on them, for fear of “offending” the offenders. Sometimes it helps to have a clearer picture of “oppressed” and “oppressor”.

After we stuck up for Israel, and beg them to play nice and help us out in the middle east, they go and announce they’re building 1100 new homes in East Jerusalem against our express wishes. I say we go back to the U.N. and say “That Palestinian proposal looks pretty good. Going along with Israel’s wishes sure doesn’t accomplish squat.”
