Hey guys, just sit back and chuckle - you’re getting it back slot-pull by slot-pull, bigots will always be here, they haven’t yet figured out what causes little baby bigots. I would give back the Black Hills if it were up to me.

It is not a mocking dance, which you might realize if you actually saw it. I am part native American, and it does not offend me. I went to the U of I, by the way.

Singess, I know Florida State’s mascot has been approved by the Seminole tribe so did U of I get similar approval?

DallasDan: the last of the Illini tribe died in a smallpox epidemic in the late 1700s. The costume was designed and presented by representatives of a tribe that was originally in Iowa. The dance incorporates movements used by various tribes that have inhabited the middle west. It is ferociously difficult to do, but every year there were as many as 20 auditioners for the widely popular performance.
