Yeah, great idea, so they can sell your biometric data to spammers and scammers like they do everything else you have to give them for the privelege of using their “service”.

Cutting off a finger, or taking out an eye for a retina scan has been used in movie scripts for some time now. The paranoids, and he ones they have reason to suspect, all fall in the category of he old office prankster sitting on the copy machine to get a look at their brains

This might provide a legal problem for Apple in Germany. Companies here can NOT require their employees to use finger-print technology without approval by the in-house labor-board (“Betriebsrat”). And these people don’t like fingerprint-scanners at all. The biggest Airport in Germany had to change protection-plans for high-security zones from fingerprint to eye-scan because of that. So, if your company provides you with an iPhone 5S and tries to force you to protect it with your fingerprint they might get a nasty surprise in return. Even if they just leave it optional it’s a problem because – by definition – what’s on the phone is their property and they are not allowed to get your prints without consent. Companies might stay with the iPhone 4 or even switch to Android for this reason. Huge mistake, Apple, after the NSA scandal!
