I don’t have a problem with that approach. The Bush lawyers (Yoo) tried to circumvent basic human rights and to give their boss a legal excuse to do so. That’s disgusting, because in the end such rationalization can also be used against any citizen in the world, including U.S. citizens.
Furthermore: a tortured terrorist remains a terrorist, and even more so, because now he has a good reason for payback. A dead terrorist on the other hand…

I get a very strong “Nixon” vibe from this comic. Anybody else get that?

Apples and oranges, Chip/cons.
In war, you kill people but, even war has rules like not torturing those you capture. Look it up.

This cartoon might have a point if this was 2009 and that had actually happened in the interim. Where does Bok come up this garbage?

Yoo also had no problem using the torture tactics on U.S. citizens. Trust me, torture is MUCH worse than just killing a person, and quite illegal, under all laws of “civilized cultures”. Okay, that didn’t include Rummy, Cheney, and the crew.

Let’s not forget the side order of continued “extraordinary rendition”. How many on the kill list are US citizens?
