I wonder if we truly have the technology to cheaply produce food in the amounts necessary for the ballooning population and still keep it safe from contamination. I know there are a lot of cases of food contamination going on lately. Maybe the food processing plants are too big, too efficient, etc. I know it is very tough to keep a simple little Operating Room Sterile. I have no idea how they can do it with the huge amounts of food passing through.

Thank you Mr Bush and the Republican Party for reminding us what happens when we allow the national government to abandon it’s responsibilities.
Since America has seen fit to create a consumerist society, you would think that protecting the consumer would be job #1. Not so! Much more important to gut the FDA, SEC and CPSC and spend that money on pork than use it to protect Americans and keep our markets free and functioning.

kensurg has made a valid point. Which gets us down to the question of overpopulation, doesn’t it?

I ate a bad peanut about four or five weeks ago (right before the recall)… it tasted like bathroom cleaner or something stronger. I wrote a note out for my father right away that if he found my dead body Please check the peanuts…

BCS - it’s a possibility, been caught before. For some reason some of the “conservatives” think that volume leads to validity. As you saw this week end.
