   I read you’re comment the other day. Do you mail them your comics, or do you scan them, because I can’t afford a scanner, and I don’t have a credit card….

   You’ll upload a digital version for the contest. They have not opened the contest up official yet so you cannot upload the strips just yet. The contest begin February 11th so they should be accepting the scans soon. I do all my strips in Photoshop after I hand draw them with pen, brush and ink so they are already digital.

   OK, last question,(eesh, maybe I shouldn’t, because I suck at digital drawing. I’m worse than American Idol doing lip-syncing) does it require any cash? If not, then I’ll try to enter. But do you just draw on hand first, then try to do the same digital drawing on Photoshop? As I said, if the contest at ALL needs a scanner, then I’m screwed.

   Also, good news, Penguins has gotten signed up for Cartoonists Studio. I have one strip that I drew on computer, but I lost the art ability to DRAW on a computer. It was my best computer drawing, so I uploaded it.

   As long as you can upload 10 digital strips, you are good. They do not accept hand drawn strips that require them to scan. You have to do the work. It costs nothing to enter. I enter this every year… and get knocked out REALLY quick each time.

   Ok, but bad news: I have 5 strips on my computer, not 10, so if I enter, I’m screwed(plus, is there a certain program required to do this? My paint shop pro won’t malfunction, so there’s no more drawing on computer :(

    They are only accepting uploaded digital strips. You may have to wait until next year’s contest. Rules are on their web page.

    I was able to get some strips on my computer, so I have more than 10. Also, how in the name of crap do you sign up? When I was ready, I tried to sign up, but there was no area to sign up! Do you wait till Feb. 11th to sign up?

    You can sign up and upload now. The website is hard to navigate. When you see the login link, click it. The next page has a link to sign up.

    Just wanted to say HI HI HI HI HI HI HI HI HI!!! lol.. man oh man never take a week long break within a month of a previous week long break from your comic reading lol (ok so actually it was a break from work).. took me seriously a little over a month to catch up.. but I’m finally back.. and waiting lol!! Hope all is well..

    lolol… I am busy with the strip behind the scenes… but I have a lot of other stuff going on. My two sons are both playing sports (Basketball and Soccer) for their schools right now and we have games just about every night and the weekends are filled with tournaments. I am doing a TON of writing and have about three months of new stories ready to draw.

    Over the next few weeks my DAY JOB is going to be demanding some OT to prep for a sales meeting. One day I will get syndicated and there will never be breaks again. Oh I cannot wait for that day to come!!!!!!! Imagine actually getting paid to draw my comic strip…. dream dream dream…..
