I was never stupid enough to go without coverage, but, then, that was in an era before unemployment turned young workers into interchangeable parts who didn’t get coverage on the job.

NBC News reported the success of The ACA depends on enough young peopel signing up with one of the Exchanges. Since the majority of them will have insurance with thie employer, they will not need to sign up. hecne The ACA will fail under its own pressure

The “invulnerability” of the young DOES make it difficult to get them to sign up, but it’s also why some of them join the Marine Corps!

Just like with employee provided insurance for ALL their employees, the plan DOES need to get those “across the spectrum” enrolled. The reason Medicare is more costly IS precisely because it’s only for those over 65! Which, is why premiums may indeed need “adjustment” there with longevity increasing, but not a reason to scrap the program.
