Oh, c’mon. The reality is that the 9/11 skyjackings will NEVER HAPPEN AGAIN. They weren’t relying on their box cutters; they were relying on the passengers’ and crew’s assumption that they would take them to a safe location, e.g., off to Cuba. No one will EVER assume that again. If someone tries to take over a plane, people will attack them en masse. How do I know this? Because it has happened more than once already.
They’re talking about minor implements here. Swiss Army knives, which you used to be able to buy in Zurich airport before walking onboard! (Perhaps now the Swiss Army Knife Store will return to Zurich Airport, which would be nice, since it was a cool little store.)
Having said that, the 3-ounces-of-liquid limit is equally absurd. It is based on the so-called “liquid bomb” conspiracy, which was based strictly on fantasy. There is NO SUCH ITEM. But that didn’t stop the TSA from imposing irrational limitations just to keep everyone aware of their “security theater.”

Boy I hope they all have those new uniforms. I’d hate to think the kids that worked, saved and planned a trip to DC are being denied the experience of visiting the seat of government of their country for no reason at all.

To be fair, a hockey stick can’t conceivably cause enough of an explosion to bring down an airplane.

Hockey sticks are the most dangerous weapons known to Man.

Oh oh.
Coming soon: Hockey Sticks! The silent killer!
Liberals finally recognize the lethal danger hockey sticks. Now drafting strict legislation for background checks. Mayor Bloomberg already on it – has law ready for signatures.
.
Meanwhile in other news: Pseudo-Freudians argue: is the length of a hockey stick representative on any way of men’s sexual anxieties and prowess? Is it fair that the size of a hockey stick is regulated? Should men be allowed to compensate for inadequate body size by flashing a magnum-size stick? Does owning more than one hockey stick cause otherwise law abiding citizens to go on a killing rampage?
.
These questions and more as the Left moves to control all potentially dangerous weapons.

Did you happen to catch my interaction with Canuck on another thread a while back when he likened men buying guns with “fear” and “body part” size ? And then said Freud said it, when Freud didn’t say it?

I saw that. You were wrong then and are still wrong now.

They did find a liquid bomb in a carry on luggage.
Of course if the did not put a limit on liquids and there was a liquid bomb that brought down a plane killing your relatives, you would be blaming Republicans for not banning liquids over 3 ounces.

It can be used to K.O. the Pilot Co-Pilot and the hijacker can then take over the plane and crash it into a tall building.
Small knives can be used to stab people and they will bleed out before the plane can land to transport the victim(s) to the hospital(s)
