    Lies Lies Lies Lies Lies

This is not happening in Real Life Florida.

I know this as fact as I have relatives living in The Florida Panhandle and Tampa Area.

Once again a liberal leading with emotion and clouding the issues.

I live in the Tampa area. Yes, we have our share of violent crime. But i have never had the misfortune to hear a gun go off in my little section of the world and I know for a fact that 70% of the homes on my street have one or more guns in them.

Normally, I have little use for the ST pete based Politifact articles. They are slanted/biased IMO as is this article I will reference.

    http://www.politifact.com/florida/statements/2012/mar/23/dennis-baxley/crime-rates-florida-have-dropped-stand-your-ground/

It was dealing with the Travon Martin case and the attack on the stand you ground law we have. A politician claimed that that law had some effect on reducing violent crime. No, probably not. But politifact had this to say:

“We found that violent crime has dropped significantly in Florida since 2005. (The law went into effect Oct. 1, 2005.) We calculated the drop in violent crime rates, to account for population growth. In 2006 and 2007, violent crime rates were up just slightly up compared with 2005. In 2008, the violent crime rate began declining. By 2010, the violent crime rate had dropped 23 percent since 2005. (See chart below.)”

Yep you need to look at the whole article and see the chart.

And while that law may not have had a direct effect on the reduction of violent crime it certainly did NOT increase violent crime as the statistic show a steady decrease.

Care to look at Florida crime stats?

Nope a million, two million it would be better if everyone had a permit. then everyone would have their prints on file and their guns registered just like you are all calling for. So WTF people?

When Tennessee passed a law allowing concealed carry in bars, I thought it would be a blood bath. I was wrong. There have been a few shots fired, and a lot of waving and threatening, but it doesn’t affect me much. I don’t go to bars, and the idea of drunks killing each other doesn’t trip my tragedy meter. Kind of tough for the cops though.

Actually go back to when Tennessee was allowed to Vote on The Conceal/Carry Bill, many LTE’s to ‘The Tennessean’ along with many Liberal Reporters to ‘The Tennessean’ all claimed if Tennesseans were allowed to Conceal/Carry guns. we would see The Wild West Shoot-Outs. This has yet to happen.
The Guns in Bars Bill was overturned by an Appellate US Federal Court as being too Vague.

I believe our Current Republican State Legislature will once again try to pass the Guns in Bars bill along with the Guns in Trunks Bill. For the 1st time in Tennessee State History, The Republicans hold a Super Majority in The State House and State Senate in same session.

So now Florida has “Stand Your Ground” against people with CCW permits. Smart like ox, strong like fox!
    .
“Why did you shoot the him?”
    .
    “He had on a hoodie!”
    .
“It’s raining! He’d have to be stupid not to be wearing his hood!”
    .
    That’s why I shot first!"
    .
    “Why?”
    .
“Because I knew he was smart, too smart to be walking in this neighborhood without a CW!”
    .
    What could go wrong?

    .
So as long as you’re OK, the nation’s ok, isn’t that what you’re saying?
    .
How about abortion? You’re not gonna have one, so you’re cool with it too right?
    .
How about bank robbery? Your money’s insured by the gubmint, so bank robbery is ok with you, right?
    .
How about pedophile priests? Nobody is after your bunghole so, that’s fine with you, right?
    .
And the lead paint they used to paint those toys. You stopped gumming toy firetrucks ten years ago now, so… doesn’t bother you.
    .
There is a powder keg and people are striking the steel against the flint (few shots fired, wavin’ and threatenin’) So far so good! Then when it happens “Well you knew that was gonna happen sooner or later, now it happened…prolly won’t happen again, and besides, nobody I knew got hurt, so…”
    .
Pathetic Oldfart! Sorry to have to say, but facts is facts!

    @ irrational
Congratulations. You have won the trophy for most consecutive non-sequiters.
Had I known that you are so rabidly protective of drunks (human vermin) I would have been more insulting.

    1. Did I make fun of your name? It was un intended. I assure you.
    .
    2. Perhaps you don’t understand the meaning of the term Non Sequitur but my list of other things that “don’t affect [you]” is derived from the argument as you presented it. As a result they are sequential to your stated position.
    .
    3. I’m as protective of drunks as I am of the people they are when they are not inebriated.
    .
You made a stupid argument that just because it hadn’t happened, much, yet, it wasn’t likely to happen.
    .
Flip a coin. The chances that it is going to come down “Heads” is 50/50. Say it lands “Tails”. Flip it again, the chances for “Heads?” 50/50.
    .
Flip it 1000 times, the last 999 times it has landed “Tails” each time. What are the chances that the coin will land “Heads” this time? 50/50.
    .
But what are the chances (given that the coin is legitimate) that you throw 1,000 “Tails” in a row? Infinitesimally small.
    .
You, sir are the one who has been non sequiturius (my own word) in this discussion in that you took your data to an inaccurate conclusion (hasn’t happened therefore it won’t happen!)
    .
The “And I don’t care about drunks anyway” is just the grease that makes your slope slippery.

    @ ReasonsVentriloquist
You are correct that I don’t regard the death of a violent drunk as a tragedy. Better in a bar than on the highway. If a drunk shoots another drunk (and is arrested) that is two wives that don’t have to be worried that they will be shot or beaten (with their children) when Mr. Jack Daniels comes staggering home.
You seem to be laboring under the misconception that all people are equal. I can accept that all are created equal, but some improve and some deteriorate. Alcohol addicts are a drag on civilization.
As for your list of Bad Things that you claim follows from my indifference to the self-inflicted fate of useless parasites, I fail to see what any of those things have to do with the narrow situation of which I spoke.
How long am I supposed to wait for the blood bath to begin before I concede that I might have been mistaken? That was over a year ago. There was a slight uptick in gun violence among people whom I value little anyway. I am not convinced that the costs out weigh the benefits in any significant amount.
That being said, I apologise for responding harshly, but your attack was less than gracious.
