Lessee! Who pushed for the 2006 elections in Gaza from this country, that eventually brought Hamas to rule in Gaza? Hmmm, does Bush ring a bell?

I don’t care for Hamas, Hezbolla, Al Qaeda, Taliban, or Likud, they’re all NUTS! But, on the 14th, Israel shot first, again. The fifth largest military in the world, Israel, has turned Gaza into a prison camp, with blockades, constant attacks, and their “opposition” still manages to fight back.

Hamas was ELECTED, because Israel has been trying to wipe THEM off the map (all Palestinian Arabs), or deprive them of all jobs, economic gains, or freedom.

Maybe if Israel, and the U.S., following their lead, as guided by AIPAC, just STOPPED bombing every middle east country NOT run by right-wing Zionists (these are NOT just Jews, but the most radical element of the faith, just like Hamas) we might see some peace?

Well since Moses led the folks out of Egypt, that little tribe started attacking their neighbors, the “diaspora” was brought on because they refused to live in peace with ANYONE! They’re back doing the same thing, and maybe it’s time to slap them upside the head and say STOP!

As to the ‘toon, btw, when you’re in one of the most densely populated small pieces of land in the world, it’s a little tough for fighters defending the area NOT to be among the “civilian” population. Think about staging a military operation against invaders away from civilians, on Manhattan Island.

One thing that all non-governmental actors (terrorists, revolutionaries, etc.) have in common is that they are able to hide among the people. Not always effective, but always a means to complain about “civilian” casualties.

Israel gave the entire Gaza Strip to the Arabs in 2005, forcing Jewish property owners to leave at gunpoint. The improved properties then became “owned” by the Arabs, including large and profitable greenhouses…which the Arabs immediately destroyed. And as soon as the Arabs had possession, they began firing rockets and missiles at Jewish homes and schools. They kept this up ever since.
    ISRAEL DID NOT START THISWAR’.
    ISRAEL IS DEFENDING JEWISH CITIZENS.
Israel is not trying to eliminate Arabs, it is the other way…Arabs are dedicated to pushing every Jew off the Land of Palestine, in Gaza and Judea and Samaria and they claim Jerusalem for the Arabs and never have recognized that since 1948 the Jews have a nation on the map named Israel.
I suspect dtrout is Arab and hates Jews, who have rights to the Land that the God of the Torah gave them for eternity.
Abraham, Isaac and Jacob are “Palestine” owners…with 3000 years of history of living in their own Land, always a remnant living on Israel’s soil and now a restored Nation that God will not permit be taken away from His Jewish People.
Arabs have far more Lands than the Jews small nation!

You prove dtroutma’s point. It’s impossible to have a rational conversation with someone who claims to be “God’s chosen”. It dosen’t mater if they are Jews, Muslims or Christians.

Few have the resources to stand against a superpower’s front line weapons. It has become more and more common for terrorists to place their weapon systems near locations where the chance of collateral damage to turn the loss of a piece of equipment into a propaganda attack. They carefully show the bodies of children but keep the ruins of the rocket launcher out of the frame. In many cases, the worst of the damage is caused by ordinance that blew up after being struck by precision weapons.
I truly feel for the people of gaza. They are under the thumb of hardline Israelis who have no interest in good faith negotiations and are too unorganized and desperate for help to try and fight Hamas, an organization that despite its terrorism against Israel, provide food, medicine, and vital services to the Isolated population of Gaza. No one wants to shoot the guy bringing medicine to the kids, but they sure hate it when those same people get the kids killed by putting missile launchers next to the schools and hospitals.
    Sadly,

    @saywhatwhat

I don’t know what you mean that she “proved dtroutma’s point” and that it’s impossible to have a rational conversation with her.
    -
I would feel totally comfortable in agreeing or disagreeing with what she said and then giving my reasons why.
She’s obviously passionate about her point of view and she didn’t personally insult or call anyone names, as Liberals do here.
    -
The conclusions she drew about dtroutma from his post may or may not be valid, but there’s enough information to support her view. It’s up to dtroutma to confirm or deny if she’s right.
    -
I agree with her that Israel did not start this “war” and that Israel is defending Jewish citizens. Arabs do have far more lands than the Jews.
    -
    She made good rational points.
It appears it would be difficult to have a rational discussion with you based on your “God’s chosen” comment. Who cares what one religion believes? You don’t have to believe it.
And no, I am not Jewish. In fact I am not “religious” at all.

dt: Gaza was run by Egypt long before Israel entered the scene. Egypt ruled the area in fact when the Hebrews, or “Israelites” were but a small tribe at the time of Ramses II’s son. The “bible view” is simply built on a myth created by those ancient Hebrews, for their own benefit. It’s time for modern folks, Jew or “evangelicals” to settle down and “get over it”!

btw: Buddhist monks committed suicide to draw the world’s attention to atrocities committed by the SOUTH Vietnamese government, and Americans, in an effort to STOP WAR! Would only that “bible folks” (ALL Abrahamic religions) tried as hard to preserve peace, as wars.

@ansonia, God bless you for your post. I also am at a loss to explain why American Jews vote against Israel’s interests.
    -
dtroutma won’t answer if he is an Arab with lifelong hatred for Jews….he seems to have the same viewpoint as the Israeli Arabs that pretend to be descendants of the Philistines…a proven lie….even “educated” Islamic Mideast leaders lie and try to erase the Hebrew/Jewish history in Palestine since the lifetime of Abraham.
    -
WW1 and WW3 brought Western powers redrawing boundaries and renaming nations….The UN offered 2 separate neighbor STATES to the Jews and the Arabs….in 1948 the Jews accepted the UN proposal and became the nation of Israel; the Arabs scornfully rejected the offer of Statehood and started a war of elimination on Israel’s Independence Day.
    -
most winners of wars are allowed to keep the territory they win by defending and winning….except in one instance when it is Israel that wins defensive wars…..then the Western Powers and the UN give in to the loser-war-starters and oppose the lawfully justified Israel, which has roots in Palestine for more than 3,000 years….
    -
if cursers of Israel live long enough, they will see the returned Messiah of Israel set everyone straight and move Israel’s boundaries to Lebanon east to the Euphrates and across Gaza to the River Nile. The Jewish people won’t do that, God’s Son will do that in person.
