    Well, the “bluenoses” have come up with the same population control concept as the “Shakers”!! Consent is indeed the secret weapon that makes it nobody else’s business. This is also about the only country in the western world where a sexual encounter, of any consenting nature would be a security risk.

    If I understood it correctly having an affair while being in the military is against the Uniformed Military Code of Conduct. You could end up in the brig cheating on your wife (source: Rachel Maddow).

    Furthermore I don’t think the U.S. is alone in it’s fear of blackmail etc. from foreign countries against high-ranking officials. It’s a bit like out of a Bond movie, but I think it has happened in the past. The name “Mata Hari” springs to mind…

    There is nothing wrong (besides cheating on his wife ofc) in the act, but you can allways find it interesting that he decides to leave the position after its been discovered instead of before. But I guess its the utter state of denial that you would be able to manage both things just fine.
