Well, it did the tv and radio stations some good, I guess, and probably a few newspapers will hang on a little longer, but yeah, can’t make people vote your way if you throw money at some shyster living in fantasy land.

Never have so few, spent so much, for so little.

I’d sure like to see them spend their vast fortunes down to zero.

Now don’t be unfair and silly. Both side of politics pays for foreign aid, always have.
It is one of the marks of truly great democracies, and one reason why the Rest Of The World (where I live) still holds up the USA as a shining example of Greatness.
(And no, my country has never been the recipient of USA aid – except for your military in WWII, thank you again.)

A little snarky there. Of course regular people donated money to his campaign, just as they did to the other guy’s. If you have a problem with the big money guys- Soros, Koch brothers, Adelson, etc.- well, thank your right-of-center Supreme Court and their Citizens United decision! Freedom of speech. The more money you have, the bigger your speech. Problem is, there are more little people than big guys. We out-voted them. Ask Karl Rove how he feels about super PACs now.

Well that would certainly negate this cartoon. Let’s see, without taxes there would be no drain. There would be no curb either, so Mr. Money would be standing with his imported shoes in an open sewer. There would be no paved roads, so his limo would have gotten stuck before he got there.
The homeless guy, however, would have lots of company. they would probably have killed and robbed Mr. M by now. After all there would be no police to protect him.

The rich donate to both sides so they will get repaid whoever wins. Besides, the money went to provide jobs for making ads, flyers, news medias, post office etc.
Some people think spending money is the same as flushing it down the drain. They should really have learned something in school instead of putting condoms on bananas.

and what’s really nasty, is all the little people that gave to millionaires’ campaigns—for which our candidates spent not one thin dime of their OWN money. XD

Very kind of you to worry about the have’s at this moment. I suspect your concern will not last.

Good Grief! That is the second post of yours that I have had to agree with today!

Perhaps the world really IS coming to an end on December 21, 2012 before either President Obama or Mitt Romney (if he had won the election) would take office!!

I am, of course, being somewhat sarcastic as I am NOT a conspiracy or end of the world nut in any case.

But, please keep up the relatively moderate posts, it IS a very pleasant change!!

BTW: The “stimulus” provided for 73 jobs in my very small town, and gave us an updated hospital that will provide 12 new permanent jobs, and several temporary. As to “TARP”? The banks that got “bailed out” and money, have been sitting on that cash, investing it back with the same government that “loaned” it to them, and collecting interest on it, from that same “government”, as in taxpayers, they’ve been ripping off for 30 years now. They have NOT been loaning it to those famous “small businesses” as intended in that “conservative” program.
