Actually, “guns” don’t have any rights, and gun control laws are pretty weak, or loosely enforced in most areas. But yes, “same old same old”.

No doubt the NRA will say the REAL problem wasn’t that everyone in the theatre had guns, so they could return fire.

Ban Midnight Movie Primers
Ban movie patrons from dressing in costume covering their face from entering the theater.
Ban the media from hyping movies such as Batman
Problem solved

Have you been to a Movie Theater after September 11, 2001? If you have, then you will know their is signage banning all weapons from theaters and malls.
This Jerk left though the emergency exit door, (which should have alarmed) walked to his car, dressed in body armor and armed himself with his arsenal, and then he broke in through the emergency exit, (which once again should have alarmed), and started his carnage.
His hair was dyed like ‘The Joker’ from “Batman The Dark Knight” He told police he was “The Joker”
The real problem is with greedy Movie Makers who are only interested in the all mighty dollar, the do not give a flip about our safety, and they over-hype their movies.

Be glad he didn’t turn his car into a bomb, drive it through the exit doors and detomate.

It’s ok to be a patsy and let the ones you love get hurt, right? The problem is that the guy was nuts. What is your plan for that?

@motivemagus
See, you’d be the guy running for a lawyer to sue your rescuer after he shot this dufus just as he was lining you up in his sights.

No, not really. The venue will change. Parking lot at grocery store, strret in New York, grassy knoll in Dallas, high school cafeteria, electronics store in Sacramento, mcdonalds in San Diego, etc. etc….

tigger, Texas and Florida don’t ban firearms, except, maybe, in courthouses? The courthouse is the only place I’ve seen such signs in my state, and federal offices.

@dtroutma:I carry & I make it my business to know when, where & how I’m allowed to carry my pistol; I do my best to stay in compliance with the law. In Texas (I live near Austin) it is illegal to carry a concealed handgun in a movie theatre. Check the ticket booth- you’ll see a sign with the notice to that effect, usually in the lower left corner of the window.
To all the pro gun\anti gun debators, chew on this: more people die from texting while driving than from all shootings, including police on criminals & gang warfare. More people die from cancer, or heart attacks, so where’s the anguish? Where’s the hue & cry? Where’s the media storm? Think about it. Research & decide for yourself!

^I’ll agree on the idiots texting and/or drunk while driving, but that only brings you up to around 20K a year, figuring half the 40,000 are NOT drunk or texting, as opposed to over 30K from guns (accidental and criminal).
Compare those gun numbers to any country with ENFORCED and RATIONAL gun regulations. When you see those numbers drop to double, or maybe triple digits, at worst, it’s “informative”. It is ALSO notable how high our HOMICIDE rate is, regardless the COD as compared to other “industrialized” nations. We’re a violent bunch, “armed” or not.

Last night Dateline reported this nut told then he booby-trapped his apartment, the Police sent in a robot and were shocked to see the way he rigged his apartment to go boom with trip wires and bombs.

Ban Midnight premiers and things like this will not happen
dannysixpack said, 10 months ago
right, midnite premiers are definately the problem. also every citizen should have access to assault rifiles without restriction and unlimited bullets, that would solve the problem.
