Millions of years ago The entire North American Continent was completely under water.

Million of years ago From Current Day New England and the majority of the Midwest was once a huge Glacier.

What caused the waters to recede?
What caused the Glacier to melt?

^ What caused CO2 to dramatically rise to dangerous levels in the last 50 years that can cause a measurable greenhouse effect and climate disruptions?

I’m more concerned about the next twenty years. I really hope your A/C goes out, at the appropriate moment.

Exactly. We must reduce our emissions by at least 50% or the world as we know it will be toast in 100 years. Do your part.

Try talking to foreign countries that you have no control over. As a matter of fact, you have no control over this country. Still think you’re getting somewhere?

Alternately we can start to use wind turbines with more modern designs, specifically the ones that fly approx 300 feet in the air where winds go at a constant 200km/h+ and the turbines produce energy at 2cents/ KW.

    pros
    . Cheap electricity
    . American built
    . Clean
    . Jobs boost

Remember climate change can be disagreed with, cold hard cash is something we all want

Changes that took millions of years, and were the result of plate tectonics, not just “CO2”, are now happening in decades. It IS caused by human activity, period. Even we can’t create new Himalaya, or Rockies, but we’re having just as great an effect. Then look at what we’ve dumped in the oceans of the world, and check out what’s happening with coral reefs, storm surges, surf, and as a result of even “minor” sea level rise caused by warming, and glacier melt.

PianoGuy, I’d like to see one iota of evidence for your absurd claim. The only scientists who get money based on results are those working for the oil companies to spread lies about the real scientists. A REAL scientist gets paid no matter the results, as long as their science is good, publishable, and replicatable, and I challenge you to find one example (outside of the Bush administration) of scientists punished for their results. How did Dr. Muller’s special Koch-brothers’ funded study work out for your side of the argument? It found that mainstream climatologists have been right all along. And how do you suppose it worked out for his future funding from the Koch brothers, who aren’t interested in science?

The jet stream is much higher than 300+ feet. The airlines might object to all that junk up there, above where they fly.

“We can’t fix it perfectly, therefore we should do nothing” has always been a spectacularly bad argument.

And right now, not only does America point to China to claim that because the Chinese are polluting too, there is no point in America doing anything — the Chinese are pointing right back at America and saying that in reverse. And the net result is that no-one does anything and we end up with the worst possible results.

Even if the other guy doesn’t step up first, someone has to; and America likes to make a claim of moral superiority in the world. Time to live up to that.

Geez, Tigger; pick up a junior high school science book and learn something for yourself. It’s common knowledge; known by all (except American conservatives, apparently).

Piano guy: btw, it isn’t just all the reading I’ve done OF RESEARCH PAPERS, and well those silly “books”, I also base my base on research I’VE PERSONALLY PARTICIPATED IN, for decades! Field research leads to conclusions, based on evidence and facts. “Denier” data can be mucked out of stables, and well, bull breeding enclosures.
