Oh, yes. Open up more wellheads in the Gulf. More free oil for everybody, just refine it yourself.
And the pipeline, down to the Gulf so that they can export refined oil out to the highest bidder.
And how many billions are wasted on tax breaks for the Big Oil companies?
Oh, right. Low taxes for the oil companies keeps the price of gas low.
How’s that working for you?

@Dr Who
Once again, just to irritate the righties with facts:
One of thousands of news items easily found via Google, this one from a Texas newspaper: http://tinyurl.com/74nnzbc
“The United States’ rapidly declining crude oil supply has made a stunning about-face, shredding federal projections and putting energy independence in sight of some analyst forecasts.
After declining to levels not seen since the 1940s, U.S. crude production began rising again in 2009. Drilling rigs have rushed into the nation’s oil fields, suggesting that a surge in domestic crude is on the horizon.
The number of rigs in U.S. oil fields has more than quadrupled in the past three years to 1,272, according to the Baker Hughes rig count. Including those in natural gas fields, the U.S. now has more rigs at work than the entire rest of the world."

Who received the “billions of dollars” wasted on “green business’s that went bankrupt”, Dr. Who? I only heard about Solyndra, but that just accounts from about 500 million.

Gas go up when oil goes up. Oil goes up when the future supply is in question. Obama’s actions raises serious questions about the future supply of American Oil. Permits, Pipe Line etc. and his stated dislike and encumbrance of Fossil Fuels.

Onguard’s post is a perfect example of not letting facts get in his way.

An encouraging trend to ponder…“crusty old white men” seem to be thinning from the ranks of our government—-and I for one, think their numbers in our general population will continue to decline as the information tsunami remains in force.
Please don’t misinterpret…old white men,(me included) aren’t so bad—-we just gotta knock the crust off and embrace the future!

I want one of those hybrid diesel cars that will be available in Europe if the oil companies don’t bury them first.

We’ve got several vehicles on the road that get over 50 mpg, and not all are hybrids. Some states, with “input” from the oil companies, are looking to tax vehicles per mile driven, instead of taxing the gas, which would require a HUGE increase in infrastructure, and “big brother” component.
Full sized Mercedes and other vehicles in Europe get around 50 mpg. Electrics make sense for commuting, hybrids on the road, just to reduce consumption.
What really gets me is that after decades of putting on the con, despite all the evidence of how they’re shafting people, the oil companies still have all the “righties” in their pocket, blind and stupid.

B.S. abounds. I have a new Clean Diesel that gets 48 MPG without the carbon footprint of batteries……….The car has the latest pollution controls mandated by EPA……Guss what, EPA is mandating higher percentages of Bio-Diesel 20%…….The car manufacture tell me not to use fuel containing more than 5% Bio because of damage to the EPA mandated Controls………..Could we have more Green BS?….I’ll deal with the hight prices.

Check out the Volkswagen “Bluemotion” cars.
Only available in Europe (and Brazil?), of course. The Polo, with a 3 cylinder diesel engine, gets 60 mpg.

When Gas Prices went up when ‘W’ was President, it was his fault. Today Gas Prices are going up under Obama and it’s because of ‘Speculators’

When did Obama become a ‘Righty’? The Oil Companies have bought Obama
Atma said, about 1 year ago
@Tigger
From some of the comments here you’d think Obama was the main culprit. The speculators are only reacting to the drums of war being pounded by politicians. You want high gas prices? Then vote in one of those mani-hawks that want to start a war with Iran. We’ll have $9.00/gal. in no time.

Gas price June 2004: $2.05
Gas price November 2004: $1.93
That was, of course, an election year with a Republican president up for reelection. Let’s see what happens this year, with a Democrat president up for reelection.
