What large one? Reagan and Bush eviscerated the government control.

“*Bush broke Obama’s promise to put all bills on the WH website for fivedays before signing.” -Bush broke Obama’s promise to have helath care negotiations broadcast on C-SPAN*.

Stupid Idea. Rush, Hannity, and Mann Coulter would have you guys foaming at the mouth with the spin they’d create from the legislation. But more importantly what does this have to do with anything?

Bush broke Obama’s promise to end earmarks.

    Blame your Senator. http://tinyurl.com/yzzmcao

Bush broke Obama’s promise to keep unemployment from rising above 8%.

    FINALLY! You got one right.

Bush broke Obama’s promise to close GTMO detention center in first year.

You guys were crying, “NOT IN MY BACK YARD”, remember?

Bush broke Obama’s promise to end no-compete contract with gov’t.

Since April of 2008 all government contracts have been put out for bids. The Army decided on its own that it would award no-bid contract based on (name excuse here). Obama himself did not award this.

Bush broke Obama’s promise to end the hiring of former lobbyists into high WH jobs.

According to Obama’s rules lobbyist are not permitted to take on important jobs like secretary of defense, however it does not say anything about a lobbyist working as a lackey for the secretary of defense. So no, he didn’t break his promise.

Keep the hate coming goterd. We’ll set you straight each and every time.

Howie- Bush stood by while many things happened, very bad things, driven by Rumsfeld and his proteges Cheney, Rice, Richard Pearle and other less than “honorable” folks.

Bush was mostly guilty of acts of omission, not commission. He was still “responsible”. So, no, it wasn’t all “Bush’s fault”, but under the Constitution, it WAS his responsibility.

Anyone thinking Obama gave more to big oil than Cheney, is just a tad nuts.

HOW; it’s all stuff you didn’t want to happen in the first place, so don’t complain. (puhleeze! Don’t tell me you want Gitmo closed!)

    I have to ask WC:

Okay, since you say it was a stupid idea it’s ok for the president to run an election with that promise in it and then not do it. Cause you think that various right wing talk show hosts would have been able to “spin” the HC bill or any other legislation. Have you been reading any of the news reports about what is being discovered in health care law? Very close to what was spun from those shows. Just sayin’.

The president is not responsible for what the congress does? Then, of course, if he was against it (the earmarks) he could have vetoed the bill and sent it back saying “uhhhhh, I uhhhh, I said no more earmarks” but he did not. So he must have been in favor of them. Right?

I’ll leave GITMO alone ‘cause you’re right. I DON’T want them in my back yard.

No-Bid contracts. The ARMY decided (oh oh oh who’s commander-in-chief?????) to just let a contract without a bid and the president therefore has no responsibility. OK. But you have to back up and let old bush off too if that is true.

Let’s see… I remember the campaign promise. “There will be NO LOBBYISTS in my administration.” Huh. Well, I figured that no lobbyists meant just that NO lobbyists. But, I have been called naive before….. so I guess it may be true. But, wait a sec, just what is considered an important job?

Well, I don’t think you scored many points there WC. But you did try hard so …here….have a participation award.

HOWIE, I have my own complaints about Obama. Your comment is irrelevant to mine. And you are wrong, too – I blame Reagan for a lot, too!

It’s an interesting “dialogue” between the right and the left here isn’t it? Each side screaming at the other, each totally not listening to the other. We are the American people and we are being screwed royally by the rich of Wall St and the oil barons and insurance barons, etc. These bastards count on us being stupid enough to battle each other over this and leave them alone instead of joining together and shedding them from our backs. You all deserve what you’re getting!

In fact, I see a lot of each side listening to the other…and responding appropriately.

But I agree with the rest of your post.

It’s not true listening though Anthony. It’s “I’m listening so I can figure out how I can contradict you with my particular set of truths” kind of listening instead of, “hmmm, that’s interesting, why do you feel that way?” kind of listening. It’s a huge difference. The latter type of listening results in actually hearing what the person is saying and feeling their pain. It can be healing for both sides. I wish there were more of it.
