**BP HITS IT BIG TIME IN THE GULF!!
Drill baby, drill!

Yeah, except if you look closely at it, it’s still pretty expensive oil to drill – $40-50/bbl. And they had to drill 35,000 feet to do it! Don’t expect cheap gas to come back soon.

Yup… let’s just take a sh!tload MORE carbon from 100 million years ago and fill the atmosphere with it.

I fully believe in promoting alternative energy sources. However, they are not going to be able to carry the full load for some time to come. We still need that nasty stuff, for the time being. Even if it is more expensive, that field may be very useful soon.

Its the same arguement from the elections all over again. Drill baby drill will only be useful 10 years from now. By that time gas will be a luxury.

Gladius, you might have some point, but knowing human nature, once we found some secret stash of oil, we would forget all about alternative sources of energy. Some won’t want to think about anything other than oil until every last drop is gone.
