Yeah, no one knows where this document is and Obama is not exactly excited to cough it up.

If he had nothing to hide this would have been over the day it was brought up.

I have to agree with fennec on this one. Thought it would have been better if “The One” had produced the document. I’m sure he’s having more fun by NOT producing it.

He just doesn’t want to cough up the bucks to get a certified copy? This argument is proposed by those who haven’t seen daylight for a long, long, time. Where is Cheney’s birth certificate? Now THERE’s one that wasn’t issued on this planet.

Guys, the Republican Governor of Hawaii says Obama was born there.
They digitized all their birth certificates – there IS no “original birth certificate” in physical form. However, the scan and its content has been inspected by nonpartisan groups.
    He’s American. Get over it.

There’s also a birth announcement in a Hawaiian newspaper from the same time. Even Obama, with all the powers imputed to him by the right, couldnt go back in time and place the announcement!

The problem isnt that there is no proof that Obama is an American citizen; there’s plenty. The problem is that when you leave reality-based discourse, no proof is good enough. (Think: weapons of mass destruction…)

Thank you motivemagus, now if we could convince the rest that Hawaii was actually a state of the union at the time ;).

The sad thing is that birthers require the president to prove a negative. If President Obama (The One, right, Nomad?) can’t prove that he’s hiding something that doesn’t exist, that PROVES it exists! Ha!

David sez: “If he had nothing to hide this would have been over the day it was brought up.” Do you even hear yourself? This sounds like something a fascist would say as an excuse to detain someone. “If you have nothing to hide, citizen, why do you defend yourself?” Ick.

David, it’s up to YOU to prove he’s not a citizen. It’s not up to the accused to prove he’s innocent, right? You are aware of the basic American rights we enjoy, I’m sure.

Every argument birthers come up with has been debunked by people and entities who know what they are talking about. At this point, you need proof. Not just accusation that our president needs to “come clean”, but something other than rumor.

It’s the American way, but possibly not the current obstructionist way…

Don’t any of these people realize that if there were one iota of truth to this silly allegation, McCain, Palin and Hillary would have been all over it in the campaign?

Wonder why none of them ever mentioned it?

Wonder why the only mention of it is from the great unwashed, over the internet.

It has been released! What do you want? A public display you can all file past? Start every press conference with “And once again, here is my birth certificate, certificate of live birth, whatever.” The official copy of the birth certificate is and was posted on his web site in 2008. (I only have a copy of mine, no one in this country has their original, it belongs to the state.) He obtained it in 2007 when he was gathering all legal documents he thought he would need to run for President. All the fact checking organization have seen the actual document, one, factcheck.org I believe, has photos of the original, including close ups of the embossed seal, the signature (a stamp was used) of the Hawaiian official, and the creases from being folded and mailed.
I find it unfathomable that there are nuts out there that STILL have their knickers in a twist over this!
So get a life before I send the space aliens to abduct you.

The SCOTUS will hear this case after two Pigs with a crew of 12 astronauts on the back of each Pig lift off from Cape Canaveral Florida. One pig lands on the Moon, the other Pig Lands on Mars on the same Day. Note, Both pigs lift off from the Cape at same time on same day.

Agree with Charlie - that Daily Show is awesome. And hilarious.
According to Salon.com, turns out McCain did hear about the “birth” issue, and had it investigated. They decided the claim just wasn’t so, and therefore ignored it. I have my problems with McCain (especially during this campaign), but I give him points for being honest on this one.
