The term isn’t “never sinned”. The Greek is “sinless one”. In other words, someone who isn’t guilty. If you read it from the Greek, it’s “the sinless one among you, first at her let him cast stone.”.These guys had apparently planned it as a trap. What’s truly despicable is that they apparently thought a woman was expendable in trying to get to Christ. (The man she was with is conveniently absent.) None of those accusers were sinless in this matter, apparently..Christ wasn’t endorsing sin, but He saw the Pharisees’ deadly hypocrisy. Imagine how hardened a heart that took for the Pharisees to do that!.“Go and leave your life of sin” is pretty clear..Despite that, how many today use 8:7 as a pithy rationalization to do something they know is wrong?
