^^ My point exactly. You’ll want to weed out self-righteous dweebs like Gweedo, here, before you waste both your time and his…

    (Speaking from personal experience here…)
    .
Shouldn’t that be smoking from personal experience ?

    .
I will dance joyously on fritzoid’s early grave. Been a smoker. The one bad habit I wished ida dropped sooner. Waste of good money and good health.

How about ‘prospective mate must have a ditzy brother’ - then Donna would be happy too!

When I said “don’t set your sights too high”, I was talking about “sight”, not wealth, Miss Plain Jane.

Would rather be poor and happy than rich and miserable.
Is rich and happy an option?

^^ There’s no non-smoker more self-righteous than an ex-smoker. Have fun trying to dance while you’re so busy patting yourself on the back.

I strongly advise everyone never to start smoking, and if somebody wants to quit I support that, but I never pass judgment on those who have no interest in quitting, or who have tried to quit and been unable to do so.

My initial post on the subject was value-free; I just suggested that Mona ought to be up-front about being a smoker in her ad, because that’s significant information. Those who respond will then either be (a) smokers themselves, or (b) non-smokers who wouldn’t object to dating a smoker. If she gets responses from guys who’ll back out when they learn she smokes, that’s a waste of time for everyone concerned.

If you, Gweedo, saw Mona’s ad and made arrangements to meet her, and didn’t find out until the face-to-face that she smokes, wouldn’t you prefer she had mentioned that fact in her ad? Or would you just make fake coughing noises throughout the date? I’m sure that would go over well…

Aww, fritz, I’m sorry if yesterday’s post on Mona’s smoking sounded like a slam. I was in the smoke league myself for a good sixteen years and had a few failed attempts before it stuck. Pot and beer have their time and place. Smoking can be so hard because you can or used to, be able to light up just about any old time and place. Each time i quit and then went back was a big letdown, especially if I had gone several months. Coming up on 22 years and don’t miss it, even when it’s right in front of me. They were on their way to a dollar ten a pack when I got off, for good. People who are struggling to get out have my sympathy… and at today’s prices…

    PEACE, MAN !

    Razorback:
    Silly DARIA?!?!?!
Are you mixing Mona up with a 10-years gone MTV cartoon?

The whole Hawaii storyline played out like “Quinn the Brain”. Well, except for Mona letting her emotions rule over her with Ryan.

Considering how different she was in Hawaii, Mona may be a little disparate. (How desperate she might be is a whole other matter!)
