The extremely self-absorbed often give an impression of extreme stupidity, because they simply don’t bother to learn. If it isn’t about them, they are not interested. So Donna could be well-trained and reasonably competent in her job, and still remain abysmally ignorant about anything that has no direct bearing upon herself, her appearance, her love life, or her paycheck.
