Tell me about it! You go out and order a single pizza slice, you get one the size of a pizza!
    Good Morning, “Cathy” clan!

Hi, all! It’s very good to be back! My daughter had a long ballet camp in Atlanta, and I had to go with her. It has been a busy summer!

You’re right, Susan — I can sometimes get 3 meals out of the one I order when dining out. Also, most restaurants (including fast food) have low cal / low fat menu items.
Welcome back, Sally246 — you have been in my “stomping” grounds" and close to lightenup.
Happy Monday to the Cathy Clan!

So true! And I think we all noticed servings were getting larger, we just went with it because it felt like we were getting more for our money!

Hello Cathy clan! Welcome back, Sally! As catsarge said, you were in our neck of the woods, and we hope it went well! Would have enjoyed meeting you! :-)

Some of the fad diets in panel 1 are passé now.

Portion distortion. WW teaches portion control — which is really the answer. I read an article by a Hollywood star once upon a time (can’t remember the name). She said when she eats out, she cuts the portion in half and then cuts it in half again and it is just right. That’s how she stayed thin. I usually split restaurant meals with my husband (just last night in fact) and still have enough to bring home for another meal (tonight). It works for us.

That is the way my wife and I do it – that is if we agree to have the same thing for dinner. One order – two plates and we normally both leave full. I have noticed though that the serving sizes in restaurants in the US seem to be much bigger than the restaurants here at home – and the price is less in the US too. Cannot figure that one out – although after talking with our servers while visiting the US, they do not make anywhere near what they would here in Canada – our minimum wage is much higher than most of the states.

    Two words: common sense.
