Sad but true! And the “You look great!”… what liars!
p.s. Both of you guys look like you’re trying too hard.

Good morning, Cathy clan! The good news is that I didn’t get a call from camp last night. The bad news is that we got a letter from her yesterday that she must have written on the first day that talked about how miserable she was. The odd thing is that she’s one of the few who is smiling in all the pictures that she’s in. So I hope she got over the first day jitters and is fine now (except for bedtime). Sigh… I don’t remember going through this at all.

I will never ever go to a high school reunion! Even if I were thin, didn’t have gray hair or wrinkles and was rich!

I only went to my school reunion (the only one ever, as far as I know) because I was persuaded that all my old school pals would want to buy copies of my books. I stocked up so that I could take a few along, put some out with the photos and report cards, as requested . . . and took the whole lot back home again at the end!

    Anyone want to buy . . . ?!!!

I said it before and I’ll say it again, I’ll never go to a high school reunion!
@lightenup – hopefully she got over her jitters and will want to go back next year.

You’re an author! Cool! What kind of books do you write?

What a couple of losers!!! So glad I don’t personally know either one of them!!!!! [eye-roll]

Hi, rgcviper! Have a good trip!!!

lightenup: Hope Jr. is doing better at camp today and that her letter was, indeed, just a bad case of the nervous jitters from a 10-year-old girl who was away from home all by herself and was feeling sad and down at being away from her family for the first time in her young life. When does she return home? Please be sure to give her our love and tell her we’re all thinking of her!

Anona Mouse: What a treat having a published author among us! Are you someone famous that we have heard of . . . or maybe even have your books on our shelves? Give us some details, girlfriend. All your friends here on “Cathy’s Corner” are just DYING to know!!!!! ;-)

Hello and Happy Thursday, fellow “Cathy” fans. Hope everyone’s having a really great day today!!! :-)

    Oh dear . . . honest, I wasn’t trying to advertise!

If you’re really curious, you’ll find me at Amazon as B0031R5I5Q (Kindles are cheaper than printed books!) or at here: I have my own website too, where you can download free samples first, before you commit yourself. But these links will probably be edited out by tomorrow!

(P.S. Sorry, everybody who isn’t interested – please don’t read this post.)

And that is why I will never go to a reunion LOL.

Ooh, lightenup – you are brave! And also very kind. I have autographed a few paperbacks in my time, but only when I’ve had them with me and sold them direct to the new owner!

But I’ll have a think about it, and see if I can come up with any brilliant ideas.

Sorry, catsarge – I did notice your comment, but I never know what kind of books to call them!

They’re not paranormal or vampire types, because I don’t know any of those. (At least – I don’t think I do.) They’re mostly about fairly ordinary people living through extraordinary events, one way or another.

And because I’m a little bit past 21, my characters are often a shade older, too. But what happens within the pages depends on whether the main characters are students, artists, writers or lion-tamers. One is more of a fable – “Flowers for Alys” goes back into distant history and has a sprinkling of magic here and there.

    Hope that helps . . . P.S. I haven’t actually written about lion-tamers yet.

Isn’t there a movie like this — the kid’s having a great time, but sending letters home that it’s awful? I know there’s a song — “Hello Mudda, Hello Fadda” but I can’t remember if that’s how it goes.

As for Irving, he would have been better off to save us all and just stay home. I hope Cathy is having some fun.

    @Anona Mouse

As an avid reader, I was thrilled that you provided the links. Looking at your page on Shelfari i note that we overlap by about 25% – a quarter of the books you indicate as owned, I have in my own library.

LIke lightenup I would love to have an autographed copy – I only have 4 autographed books and all by the same author from a chance encounter in a bookstore. Even without the autograph I still plan to order at least one of your books to give it a try.

Oh, I almost bought “Flowers for Alys”, but ended up choosing others. I’m sure I’ll enjoy them though.

You’re in your 20s?!!? Wow, you write like you’re much older (that’s a good thing… I just mean you’re very eloquent and mature :-))
