LOL!!!! That third panel! I can’t get over it! XD
Good morning, Cathy clan! I hope today goes better than it has started out. My husband left early this morning, so I haven’t gotten much sleep, Jr handed me a pile of papers as we were walking out the door (that I told her many times to get yesterday), I have to continue working on cleaning this house (that I’m beginning to hate) and I keep remembering things that need to be done and am feeling overwhelmed.
Okay, there was my vent… so here we go!
Have a great day, friends!

Informal poll:
We have a small bar in the basement, and we’re going to put a couple of pendant lights above it (right now there’s nothing). One decorator friend thinks that cobalt blue lights would be fun and would go with anything. I can’t decide if it would be a splash of color or would look out of place.
The rest of the room is neutral (tan tiles, black and tan speckled counter, taupe floor and walls). The sofa in the next room is blue, but that was because we’ve had it for a while and I’m not going to replace it bc it’s in good shape. Also the wall art has many different colors. Right next to the bar would be some fun signs of many colors (one would be red and yellow)
Blue or neutral – what do you think?

Hope your day got better lightenup, I can’t recall ever seeing cobalt blue lights. So I am no help. As for Cathy, is there any woman who hasn’t tried the cabbage soup diet? lol It sounds so healthy at first right? And then…..

Hey lightenup, I like the cobalt blue lights. They give a nice accent and call attention to the bar. They make a good focal point for the room. The downside would be that you would have to decorate around them. I wonder if Cathy will have a lot of gas later on. Eating cabbage gives me gas, cooked or raw. Have a great weekend.

How can Cathy only be 2 hours into the cabbage soup diet when yesterday’s comic showed her heating it up for lunch? Granted, she’s wearing the same clothes today that she was yesterday so I guess it’s possible this is the same day and she was eating it as an extra-early breakfast meal. But Cathy . . . at the office . . . at 6:45 a.m.?!? Somehow I just don’t see it since no one ever seems to do any work around there to begin with. But then, there’s Charlene’s dress. While it’s the same color yellow today as it was yesterday, yesterday’s had a “pattern” of some sort (black speckles) whereas today’s yellow dress is a solid color instead. Confusing!
Ooowwwww!!!!!!!!!! Too much over-thinking when it comes to Cathy and all her unique “quirkiness” can really make my head hurt sometimes!!!!! ;-)
Hi, rgcviper!
ncalifgirl58: I’ve tried a few different diets in my time over the years but I’ve NEVER tried this one. I don’t like cabbage to begin with but even if I did, this definitely doesn’t sound healthy to me at all.
Hi, lightenup! Hope enough time has passed by since your first post that you’re feeling a little less stressed now. I like the cobalt blue pendant lights idea. Sounds like it will add a really nice pop of color to the bar area. I’m no decorator but you might want to make sure you’ve got at least a couple of other items somewhere around there in the same color-family though — otherwise, it might look a little bit odd if they were the only blue things there without a few similar-colored pieces tying the room’s look all together. But whether you go blue or neutral, I’m sure it will look fine no matter what. Don’t forget to let us know which one you decide to go with!
Hello and Happy Friday, fellow “Cathy” nuts! Only a couple more hours then it’s officially the weekend again!!!!! ;-)

I can’t recall ever seeing cobalt blue lights.
Not the light bulbs that are blue but the light covers. Cobalt Blue is very pretty!
But then I was looking on the Home Depot website and saw a Hampton Bay Delphian 6-Light Hanging Brass Pendant (if money is no object!) that looks Stunning!

Thanks, everyone!! I have been investigating lights half of the day (probably a waste of time, but oh well). I called Lamps Plus, and she found this great light fixture that I like and it’s not even on their website!
But you can see it if you go to besalighting.com, then search for “Sasha II Mini Incandescent” and choose the first result. It is the Ceylon one which has a mix of many colors so it will go with anything.
If you want to see the neutral one I was looking at on Home Depot, go there and search for “TH70743”
There were 2 blue ones we were looking at, but one was at hansenwholesale.com and search for “Access 72119-BRZ/COB”
Sorry to bore you all! I’ve spent way too much time on this, but I don’t want to regret a decision since it looks great so far. I only have 11 days left before my in-laws come and I wish I could wiggle my nose and have it all finished! So I might be having more nutty posts in the next 10 days to get it out of my head. :-)

OK. That third panel just scared me when I first saw it, although now, it’s making me laugh more.
Our Cathy is something else, isn’t she?
HI, MOM. Happy Friday, Clan.
