Newlyweds Cathy and Irving navigate the treacherous waters of couple-hood. From pampered pets to prying parents, they’ve got a lot to learn! Wedding or not, it’s still all about Cathy - she personifies the young career woman and her typical daily obstacles. Ice cream, panic attacks, stress and love are all in a day’s work. We read, we identify, we laugh. Who could ask for more?
Cathy is the Everywoman. She deals with diets, self-esteem, in-laws, and letting her husband know that she is the boss. Everyone can identify with her shopping, bills, taxes, planning for the future and coping with her husband’s incessant computer golf games. Whether you are a newlywed, single, or have been married for decades, all will enjoy the daily predicaments of Cathy and Irving.

Cathy should contact Kirstie Alley.
After all, misery loves company.

It’s never too late to eat healthy! I remember when I used to give up after eating something bad, but now I just move on and try to get back on track.
Good morning, lovely Cathy clan!
p.s. GretchensMom, you’re a skinny-minnie! :-)

“The Cabbage Soup Diet” . . . not just unhealthy but gross-sounding too. Yuck!
Hi, rgcviper!
Hi, lightenup! Hope you’re feeling well today! Thanks for the “skinny-minnie” compliment. I don’t work on it as hard as I could (or I’d weigh even less) but I’ve still been working on it all the same. Meanwhile, I’ve got to enjoy it while I can because at the age of 44 and with the wonderful, fun-filled world of menopause creeping closer and closer every day, apparently it’s not going to stay this way forever — no matter how hard I try! But what can you do? You can’t fight that b**ch Mother Nature . . . she always wins!!!!!
Hello and Happy Wednesday, fellow “Cathy” nuts. Hope everyone’s been having a good day so far!

Hi Mom!! Yes it can — I’m 65 and weigh 130 — with the help of Weight Watchers — but I’ve held it there or below for 4 years. It can be done, but you really have to guard against things they call “portion distortion” (so much food it’s hanging off your plate), “food pushers” (well-meaning friends trying to fatten you up), and all those “special occasions” (that mean it’s time to eat some more cake). You can still be “skinny-minnie” when you’re my age.
Hi other Cathyites!! Actually if I had to choose, I would choose the WW Veggie Soup — 0 points, more variety, eat all you want.
