Newlyweds Cathy and Irving navigate the treacherous waters of couple-hood. From pampered pets to prying parents, they’ve got a lot to learn! Wedding or not, it’s still all about Cathy - she personifies the young career woman and her typical daily obstacles. Ice cream, panic attacks, stress and love are all in a day’s work. We read, we identify, we laugh. Who could ask for more?
Cathy is the Everywoman. She deals with diets, self-esteem, in-laws, and letting her husband know that she is the boss. Everyone can identify with her shopping, bills, taxes, planning for the future and coping with her husband’s incessant computer golf games. Whether you are a newlywed, single, or have been married for decades, all will enjoy the daily predicaments of Cathy and Irving.

GREEN grapefruit juice????
Anyway, I can’t have grapefruit as it might interfere with my anti-depressent pills.

Good morning, Cathy clan! Have a great day!!

Grapefruit juice and grapefruit diets have been declared to be total fails. Don’t fall for any so-called diets that have only one dominant ingredient, unless you want to turn into a grapefruit, a parsnip, or an egg. lol

Hi Cathyites!! I don’t know how to add a “link” but there is an discussion with CG included in the “Makers” site. The show aired Tuesday night, I didn’t see CG on it, but she is included in the daily discussions they have on AOL — may also be on other sites. If someone can tell me how to add a link, I will try to add it here.

I love grapefruit but can’t have any because of the statins I’m taking. Of course, different doctors and pharmacists have not necessarily agreed on the grapefruit ban. My mom is on the same statins and eats half a grapefruit every morning, and her numbers are excellent. Does anyone have an opinion on this debate?

I’m so sorry! I tried at least 9 different times in 9 different ways to give you the instructions on how to post links here but for whatever reason, I just couldn’t get my computer to cooperate with me! About 3/4 of the equation would show up but I couldn’t get the rest of it to do the same, no matter HOW hard I tried! It’s a real head-scratcher for me, that’s for sure . . . but then, I’m the self-proclaimed “Queen of Computer-Stupid Land” so it’s probably something I’m doing wrong and I just don’t know what it is or how to fix it. In the “good old days” whenever I had computer questions, dear friends, Aaron and Dr. Billy, were always there to lend me a helping hand and help me solve my problem(s). Golly, I sure do MISS them!!!!! Anyhow . . . maybe someone else who knows how to do it will be able to give you the instructions and their computer won’t be so damned contrary about letting the entire thing show up like MINE is!!!!! :-(
P.S.: As a last resort, have you tried just copying and pasting the address here? Maybe it would show up that way? It won’t be all nice and neat, printed in blue, but if it works, it still gets the job done.

I’ve never tried it myself. I won’t eat grapefruit because it tastes so sour to me and I’m just wondering if grapefruit juice (like from a can in the store, or at a restaurant, like where Cathy and Charlene is) is just as sour-tasting? If so, I’d probably lose weight on it, too, because it would be pretty difficult for me to drink very much of it. I’m with Cathy on this one: if you’re going to “cheat,” it might as well be with chocolate!!!!! ;-)
Hi, rgcviper!
Hi, lightenup! Hope you’re feeling well today. And I totally agree with your comment yesterday regarding time spent conversing with a friend being time well spent! Even while on my cleaning frenzy last summer, I didn’t spend every minute of every day doing that either! I also mixed in other activities of some form or another every now and then (including the occasional dinner out with my best friend!) just so that I wouldn’t get burned out and give up out of frustration right in the middle of the whole project. Looking around at how neat and organized everything is, I feel very proud of myself for finally getting it done and wishing I had done it sooner. But better late than never, I guess!!!!! ;-)
Hello and Happy Thursday, fellow “Cathy” nuts! Can you believe it’s the last day of February already?!? Hopefully the month of March will start bringing nicer weather for those of us that don’t live in nicer, warmer, sunnier climates during the winter time!!!!! :-)

@GretchensMom
Hi Sis!! It’s fun to chat with you every day, although I may not always come on later in the day. Today, I’m just trying to forget about things, so this is always a nice distraction. :-)
I wish I could take a little more time for myself these days, but I’m on a deadline (this week’s is that the carpet is going to be installed tomorrow, so I HAD to get stuff off the floors asap! Unfortunately I didn’t get it all done, so I guess I’ll be scrambling in the morning. Eek!)
My other deadline is that my in-laws are coming to visit in less than 3 weeks (double eek!) and they’re staying in the basement, where the guest room is, so that’s the real urgency to getting it all done quickly.
I’m sure I’ll love it next week when it’s mostly done, but now the rest of the house that I’ve neglected for a month is a disaster so I’ll have to catch up on that.
All I can say is that when my in-laws are here, I will be taking a break!!!
It certainly has been a cold one, but we haven’t gotten snow like you guys have. Hope you’re staying warm!! Hugs!

The website that I always use for a guide when posting things like images and links is;
http://home.comcast.net/~ccdesan/Pibgorn/StyleGuide.html
So use the “Embedded Link” section for what you all want to do. I can help if it still doesn’t work for you all…

Don’t worry Mom, you’ve got competition for “Queen of Computer-Stupid Land.”
Ok, I found the link — www.makers.com/cathy-guisewite
and yesterday’s “maker” was CG..
Thanx lightenup — I’ll work on your suggestion too.

HI, MOM. Regarding links, I always look at the page lightenup posted here. Good luck with making them work.
Greetings, Clan. It’s almost Friday!
