Newlyweds Cathy and Irving navigate the treacherous waters of couple-hood. From pampered pets to prying parents, they’ve got a lot to learn! Wedding or not, it’s still all about Cathy - she personifies the young career woman and her typical daily obstacles. Ice cream, panic attacks, stress and love are all in a day’s work. We read, we identify, we laugh. Who could ask for more?
Cathy is the Everywoman. She deals with diets, self-esteem, in-laws, and letting her husband know that she is the boss. Everyone can identify with her shopping, bills, taxes, planning for the future and coping with her husband’s incessant computer golf games. Whether you are a newlywed, single, or have been married for decades, all will enjoy the daily predicaments of Cathy and Irving.

Since this is a Sunday strip it doesn’t continue the story thread from the previous week. It’s Irving not the coffee shop guy.

Kathy, you’re behind the times. You need to switch to blu-ray!
O-Kay said, 3 months ago
No blu-ray in 2002…and whatever, I don’t have it either and don’t feel any need!

And yet . . . Cathy married Irving ANYHOW. Go figure!!!!!
Hi, rgcviper!
Hi, lightenup! Hope you’re having a good day today!
Hello and Happy Sunday, fellow “Cathy” nuts! While I’m very rarely ever online on Sundays, I had to get on real quick today because it’s my nephew’s birthday and I needed to send him an e-card so I thought, while I’m on the computer anyhow, why not just stop by and say a quick “Hello!” to everyone?!? Hope you all have been having a really great weekend so far and I’ll be “seeing” you again tomorrow!!!!! :-)

I’m so late, I can’t even think of anything to say about the comic. I’m only good for a comment if I’m not quite awake, I think. After I wake up and can think clearly, I’m just like rgcviper and can only do an EYE-ROLL. 8-/
Hi GretchensMom and the rest of my favorite clan! You’re so sweet, Mom, for your kind wishes. It was an up-and-down kind of day.
The highlights were that we finally went to church for the first time in a month, another Girl Scout event is done, we got a bunch of GS cookies delivered (and out of my house!), and my husband made dinner. I’m not deeply religious, but I do believe in God and going to church is peaceful to me and I love seeing the people there.
The lowlights were not being home for longer than 25 minutes from 8am – 5pm, dealing with the mess after he made dinner (I know I shouldn’t complain, but no one cleans up for me when I make dinner and he makes such a mess and I was so tired!), and discovering that Jr mostly likely has a nut allergy. :-(
The Girl Scout event was the Friendship Fair, where a bunch of troops in the area get together and each troop represents a country where they have Girl Scouts. At each booth, they have a tri-fold with information about that country, maybe some items from that country, a food item that the girls can sample, and a “swap” that the girls can take and attach to their lanyard. They also get their “passports” stamped. Even though it’s a bit chaotic, the girls seem to love it, so that’s fine. The problem came after Jr had a candy from Brazil that had all sorts of nuts in it. She is not officially allergic, but she has never liked almonds or cashews much and avoids them. She does eat walnuts and peanut butter. After she had the candy, she comes to me and says that her tongue is tingling, her stomach hurts, her ears hurt and she feels warm (she did have pink cheeks too). There was a nurse on-duty, so I talked to her and she said the signs pointed to an allergy and I should have her tested. We left soon after, I gave her some Benedryl, and she seems better.
So now I guess that’ll be something we have to watch out for… fun!
Sorry for the long post! I have so much on my mind at the end of the day!
I hope you had good weekend and your nephew had a good birthday!
Anything going on with you? How’s your mom (GretchensMomsMom :-)) doing?
