Newlyweds Cathy and Irving navigate the treacherous waters of couple-hood. From pampered pets to prying parents, they’ve got a lot to learn! Wedding or not, it’s still all about Cathy - she personifies the young career woman and her typical daily obstacles. Ice cream, panic attacks, stress and love are all in a day’s work. We read, we identify, we laugh. Who could ask for more?
Cathy is the Everywoman. She deals with diets, self-esteem, in-laws, and letting her husband know that she is the boss. Everyone can identify with her shopping, bills, taxes, planning for the future and coping with her husband’s incessant computer golf games. Whether you are a newlywed, single, or have been married for decades, all will enjoy the daily predicaments of Cathy and Irving.

I wonder if this strip will mention Presidents’ Day—especially sales at the mall!

Hello Cathy friends! Thank you for inquiring about me. I guess I’m okay. I’ve had a chronic health issue (MS) for 12 years now, and it’s been mostly okay for years, but all of a sudden, at the end of last week, my right leg isn’t cooperating so I think I’m having a relapse. I’m pretty upset about it, but I don’t really talk about it to anyone in my daily life (not sure why not). I do feel like it’s getting better and I know I need to get to a doctor, but unfortunately the doctor that I like best has moved so I’ve been trying to find a new one. I’ve tried a couple of others, but don’t feel like they’re as good as my last one. But I need to get moving on this now and make a decision. Unfortunately this is a busy time with everything, so having no time doesn’t help at all. Of course, I’m here every day, but the comics calms me and makes me feel good, which is just as good as drugs. Anyway, thank you all for being sweet and nice and caring! I love coming here every day!

Awww…So sorry to hear lightenup. I think you are such a special person. You have alot to deal with but always have a kind word for us. That is one of the reasons why I also stop by here every day. A smile and a laugh always makes me feel better too.

Being the huge pet lover I am, I completely understand the “from my dog to you cat” and maybe even the “from my son’s gerbil to your daughter’s gecko” Valentine’s Day cards . . . but a card from someone’s PC to another’s PDA . . . or a smoothie to a latte . . . or even from one purse to another?!? Now that’s just plain NUTS!!!!! [huge EYEROLL today!!!!!]
Hi, rgcviper!
lightenup: So sorry to hear you’ve been battling MS for so long. Why haven’t you told us before? Surely you know that you’re among friends here that will give you a loving, helpful, listening ear whenever you need it! Hope you find a new doctor soon that you can trust and who will take just as good a care of you as your last one!!!!!
Hello and Happy Tuesday to all my “Cathy” friends here. Hope your day — and week — is going great so far!

@ GretchensMom & ncalifgirl – You both are so sweet!! ♥ ♥
I guess the MS is one of the reasons that I really love & need a nice place like Cathy comments. I detest mean and rude people and try to avoid them as much as possible. But some/most days it’s hard to do that. Plus I feel like a lot of times, everywhere I turn it’s bad news and stressful things, so I (and most people) really need a safe place to relax and hang out (and I don’t watch much TV).
GsMom, I guess I haven’t said much because for the most part I feel pretty good, except for being worn out sometimes (although everyone is tired, so it could be normal). And poor Aaron (and others) have a lot more to deal with than I do, so I felt like it would have been whining more than anything. But I DEFINITELY do appreciate you all being there for me when I feel the need to talk!! ♥♥♥♥♥

OK—it’s official. Cathy and her coworkers have officially gone off the deep end. “From my smoothie to your latte”? Really?
@lightenup
I’ll take your [eye-roll] and raise it … uh … however much is humanly possible. You know me all too well. I hope you’re feeling better, too.
HI, MOM. Hello, wonderful Cathy family. You guys are the best.

Hi Cathyites!! Wow Lightenup, I’m sorry to hear you have MS, but glad to hear it doesn’t wreak total havoc with your life. I hope you find a doctor to treat your current flare up.
As for Cathy — this is a bit much — like you MOM, I can understand the pet valentines, but tech valentines — eyeroll!!
