Newlyweds Cathy and Irving navigate the treacherous waters of couple-hood. From pampered pets to prying parents, they’ve got a lot to learn! Wedding or not, it’s still all about Cathy - she personifies the young career woman and her typical daily obstacles. Ice cream, panic attacks, stress and love are all in a day’s work. We read, we identify, we laugh. Who could ask for more?
Cathy is the Everywoman. She deals with diets, self-esteem, in-laws, and letting her husband know that she is the boss. Everyone can identify with her shopping, bills, taxes, planning for the future and coping with her husband’s incessant computer golf games. Whether you are a newlywed, single, or have been married for decades, all will enjoy the daily predicaments of Cathy and Irving.

I don’t think it’s any of your business, Cathy. You and Irving aren’t in a relationship. Get another hobby (and not shoe shopping!)
Hello Cathy Clan! I hope you have a wonderful Friday!

Sounds like a case of “I don’t want you, but I don’t want anyone else to have you either! But if someone else does want you then I want you back too!!!!!”
What a real whack-a-doo our dear little Cathy is!!!!!!!!!! ;-)
Good evening and Happy Friday evening to all my Cathy friends! Great to “see” you all!!!!!

lightenup: Regarding our thoughts on your suggestion of going to Aaron’s firehouse to look for him if we don’t hear from him and Dr. Billy before you go visit your mother over New Year’s . . . you’re a woman after my own heart because that sounds EXACTLY like something I’d do if only I could!!!!! I don’t think it would be “stalkerish” behavior at all to show concern for a friend — even if it’s a friend we’ve never met. It’s been 6 weeks now since we last heard from either one of them and I’m not kidding when I say that I’m deeply concerned at their sudden “disappearance” from our lives without so much as a word or reason why. At first, I thought it might have had something to do with Superstorm Sandy but we haven’t heard from them since approximately a week before “she” hit and surely to heaven, every area affected by that storm has had their power restored by now. If only Dr. Billy’s mom read our site here and could let us know for sure what’s going on with them and whether or not they’re safe! Speaking of Dr. Billy . . . you know, if you can’t find the right firehouse, I wonder how much trouble anyone would get into by looking for him where he works at N.I.H. (National Institutes of Health) in Bethesda, MD?
Meanwhile, I think a separate site for more personal communication would be an excellent idea! Got any plans in the works yet???

The web address appears to be http://nih.gov/ – I found that just now, but I haven’t explored yet. I don’t know if it would help, but I’ll see if I can see any sign of him.

There’s a lot of information there! Most of it way over my head. I couldn’t find a place with “News of our people” or anything like that. But I have a place name now, at least.

@lightenup
Hi lightenup, re: yesterday; Gabe was in the accident with Aaron. I too, am concerned about “our boys”, if I may make a suggestion, if I were going to be in the area, I would call before going to the firehouse, just to get a feel for the reception you may get.

Or was it GretchensMom going to DC, I know it was one of you, and don’t want to back out and look at yesterday’s comments again.

Hi to all the clan, and have a happy, safe weekend.

Hi again! @Molly – yes, it was me going to DC, so you had it right.
Okay, I’ll let you all know if I do go (most likely will go to DC, but haven’t bought tickets yet) and I’ll have to find some time to go. I’ll think it through and come up with a plan. I think I would go in person because I think I look pretty harmless (other than being really tall) and it’s easier to trust someone when you can see their face & eyes when they’re talking. They seem more honest than someone over the phone.
Regarding the NIH & Billy side of it, since it’s a government center, there is most likely a lot of security regarding the people who work there, especially since they do have people who protest their work sometimes. My mom used to work for NIH (non-medical) and probably has some contacts there, but it would be really hard to find a research doctor with the first name William/Billy. There’s probably a bunch of them. Besides my mother would think I’m nuts… ;-)
Okay, so that’s one plan. Regarding the rest of us staying in touch, would you all prefer a website or exchanging emails?
Anona Mouse said, 6 months ago
I think if you want to keep the spirit of Cathy’s place, a website would be better – a place to chat freely, but privately. If you see what I mean.

Just wait a few years, Cathy. Then you’ll know Irving better than you EVER thought you would.
You guys are all awesome, looking out for Aaron and Billy. Keep us posted, and let us know if you learn anything.
Happy Friday, “Cathy” Clan.

Hi Cathyites!! So glad you might be checking on our guys lightenup — I hope you find them well.
As for Cathy — for this instance she needs to myob regarding Irving’s “love” life. (The quotes are because I find it ludicrous to even think Irving would have a love life as any of the rest of us know it).
