Newlyweds Cathy and Irving navigate the treacherous waters of couple-hood. From pampered pets to prying parents, they’ve got a lot to learn! Wedding or not, it’s still all about Cathy - she personifies the young career woman and her typical daily obstacles. Ice cream, panic attacks, stress and love are all in a day’s work. We read, we identify, we laugh. Who could ask for more?
Cathy is the Everywoman. She deals with diets, self-esteem, in-laws, and letting her husband know that she is the boss. Everyone can identify with her shopping, bills, taxes, planning for the future and coping with her husband’s incessant computer golf games. Whether you are a newlywed, single, or have been married for decades, all will enjoy the daily predicaments of Cathy and Irving.

I wish I had an unlimited shopping budget like Cathy and her mom seem to have.
Good morning all, have a good Monday.

Step away from the credit card, Cathy!
(I will never understand some women’s obsession with shoes. Sure, I have several pairs for various occasions, but nothing excessive.)
Good morning, Shyygirl! You’re up early!
I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend! I will admit I indulged in some Black Friday shopping, but other than that, it was quiet and enjoyable.
Hello to the rest of the nutty clan who will stop by later!!
Have a wonderful day!

I don’t think buying shoes qualifies as Christmas shopping except for Cathy, Good Morning Shygirl27 * and *lightenup . I am doing some on-line gift shopping today!!

My feet and ankles have swollen so badly from my medications, that I have a hard time getting then into shoes.

Sorry about your feet SUSAN NEWMAN. I have arthritis in the joint of my big toe and when I wear heels it’s murder. I love shoes. There are so many styles I can’t wear it ‘s torture. I didn’t read your comment until today about returning garments. Most store policies say they have to be unworn and with the tags still on. And there are at lest two tags on them. So it would seem hard to wear them with tags hanging off.

Long ago I worked in a small fashion shop in Edinburgh. There were customers who came in regularly on a Friday or Saturday, bought a dress, wore it for their night out and then returned it on the Monday – with a couple of buttons neatly snipped off, and therefore “missing”!
Sometimes they would take a couple of outfits into the fitting room and come out to point out that this one was the favourite, but unfortunately there were buttons missing, or a small part of a hem unsewn – we could see that they’d done the damage themselves and any missing bits would be in their pockets, but we had to give them the discount they requested. After all, nobody else would buy a coat with only two buttons, would they?
These pests didn’t appear to realise, or care, that it was the assistants who lost out when they defrauded the shop. And we weren’t exactly well-paid to start with.

Personally, it’s still a litttttttle too early for the holidays for my tastes …
But, at least Cathy and Mom are doing their part to jump-start the economy.
Right? Right?

A credit card in the hands of a shopaholic is a VERY dangerous thing!!!!! One of the reasons why so many people are in debt these days.

Hi Cathyites!! I do most of my shopping throughout the year, so I only have a few little things left to pick up at this time of the year. I also don’t shop the malls — I prefer art shows, bead shows — fun places!! I sometimes order a few things on line, but not today!
