Newlyweds Cathy and Irving navigate the treacherous waters of couple-hood. From pampered pets to prying parents, they’ve got a lot to learn! Wedding or not, it’s still all about Cathy - she personifies the young career woman and her typical daily obstacles. Ice cream, panic attacks, stress and love are all in a day’s work. We read, we identify, we laugh. Who could ask for more?
Cathy is the Everywoman. She deals with diets, self-esteem, in-laws, and letting her husband know that she is the boss. Everyone can identify with her shopping, bills, taxes, planning for the future and coping with her husband’s incessant computer golf games. Whether you are a newlywed, single, or have been married for decades, all will enjoy the daily predicaments of Cathy and Irving.

At least “comfort to-do piles” isn’t fattening.
Good morning, ScarinAaron (feels kinda nice being the first to post), Drs. Billy and KFG, Lightenup, Frightenup (are you two one and the same, DUH?), GsMom, and the rest of the "Cathy

I agree that it is entertaining to look through old stuff. A little walk down memory lane… and non-fattening as Susan noted.
Good morning, Susan!
Good morning, FrankenAaronStein, legal eagle and Shyygirl! I hope your exams go well, Shyygirl! What are you studying for?
Hello to the rest of the clan… GsMom, KFG, Eye-Gor, rgcviper the black cat, linds.pook, hendelca, Mona, serenasakitty, kittycatpawsare, gmforde, soonergal, lippyfish, Mai Tai, Willi Nilli, mollie, AnonaMouse, Bronzepony, simpsonfan2, tegm, scaredycatsarge10, BJIllistrated, ncalifgirl58, Molly mcgee, Teresa, mar mar in MI and all the other Cathy nuts rolling around here today!

Yeah Cathy, go right ahead and balanc those three YEARS of bank statements. Chances are at the end of the month they’re all zero . . . every last one of them.
LOL Susan I saw that lightbulb come on over your head about lightenup/frightenup. I knew it would come to you. But you made my day with the DUH? Bless you. Now I can sleep.
Morning gals and guys. To sleep . . .

I agree with Susan and frightenup about the to-do piles.
Good morning everyone. @ frightenup my major is social work and I have a midterm in anthropology. The professor is very vague or maybe the subject itself is vague, so I’m having a little trouble studying for this one. Oh well, back to the grindstone.

I will confess that I am challenged when it comes to paper clutter. Cathy actually said something today that I hope to one day say: “I can’t stop cleaning, Mom!” But I kind of doubt that will ever happen.
Good morning to Susan, frightenup, Aaron, and shygirl and hello to the rest of the Cathy Clan yet to come!

I hope she has a paper shredder, cause 3 years of bank statements aren’t with the time to look at…just keep the last 2 and shred the rest. Good morning fellow Cathy nuts.

Who gazes lovingly at three years worth of bank statements to balance?!

@nannygram
Only our favorite little nut job nannygram.
Billy and I don’t even have 3 months worth of paper statements. With direct deposits and online payments, no paper required. The only paper I got is about $10 in my wallet, a birthday gift from an elderly neighbor in March.

LOL! Your DUH and nuts comments cracked me up. :-)
@ Shyygirl – That’s fantastic! Best wishes to you for your exam and your degree. We need more people like you. :-)
p.s. My comments will be short today & tomorrow bc I have an infection in a finger on my right hand and it hurts like heck (I just started antibiotics). Plus I’m leaving tomorrow at noon, so I’ll say a quick hello and an au revoir.

I’m just so very proud to say that the first panel in today’s Cathy comic was definitely ME this past summer! I’m extremely pleased at how far I got in my office with all the paper de-cluttering I did and I’m actually looking forward to tackling other areas of my home after the holidays! If you ever need help getting started on your own home clean-up job, just watch an extremely sad episode or 2 of “Hoarders” on A&E. Even if your home isn’t anywhere NEAR that bad, it should still provide you with plenty of inspiration anyhow!!! And if it doesn’t . . . then I don’t know what possibly could!!!!!
HI, AARON, DR. BILLY & LMB!!!!!
Dr. Billy: Thanks so much to you and your mom for the wonderful Chocolate Raspberry Parfaits! As always, I made sure to bookmark it on my laptop for future making. But delicious though they look, I’m still feeling pretty bummed out about the loss of my cable t.v. Know what I did last night after “Emily Owens, M.D.” went off until I went to bed a couple of hours later? I found out that my years-old Nintendo game system still works! When I couldn’t watch something on HGTV, DIY or Investigation Discovery, I had to resort to Tetris and Tetris 2! Next time . . . Super Mario Brothers!!!!!
Shyygirl27: Good luck on your upcoming midterm!
Anona Mouse: LOL at your last post yesterday!!!!! At least your husband recycles. While mine is a whole lot better at it than he used to be, he’s still not nearly as good as I’d LIKE for him to be. Having said that though, I’m just glad he does as much as he remembers to do.
Good afternoon, lightenup, lightenupjr., lil’lightenup, Dr. K.F.G. (wherever you are!), Susan, lindz.coop, rgcviper, gmforde, serenasakitty, kittycatpawsare, hendelca, Gator007, legaleagle48, mollie05, Anona Mouse, catsarge10, millie p, soonergal, Bronzepony, Molly mcgee, simpsonfan2, Shyygirl27, Violet Bay, AndiJ, BJIllistrated, ncalifgirl58, summerdog, Terri, ruizuno1, Wolf Emperor, FinnyGirl, ellisaana, marmar in MI, J. Short, janinabarnes, nannygram, samfran60 and all the REST of the “Cathy” fanatics joining us here today. As always, it’s really great to “see” you all and if you’re new here . . . WELCOME TO CATHY’S NUTHOUSE!!!!! GLAD YOU’RE JOINING IN ON ALL THE FUN!!!!! ;-)

Mom! how about a Netflix subscription? We pay $8 a month for streaming only (no DVD in the mail). Our DVD player has built-in Internet. Cheap and easy — and TONS of TV shows, not just movies.

Love the little heart above Cathy’s head. Now we can all see that’s she’s Cathy being Cathy.
Late home . . . LMB had a vet appointment. As is his way, the vet was so nice to him he let her rub his tummy. He’s not fickle but he’s a pushover. :-D

I used to teach anthropology — feel free to ask questions. I also went back and got a degree in social work, taught it at the same university and am now getting my full license — again feel free.. (Don’t know if I’ll be able to guess what your professors are looking for but I’m willing to give it a try.)
