I can’t remember who said it, but I remember once reading that “ex-lovers make the best kind of friends”. It’s certainly a happier end to a relationship than wanting never to speak to them again!
So, Cathy – take it as a warm compliment that he wants a friend to share his happiness on this big day in his life. Either go or don’t – depending on the wardrobe – but thank him with a smile, and wish him well for the future.
Might be an idea not to chat for long with the new bride, though.

Thanx lightenup — favorite part was probably eating dinner and singing with some of my favorite folksingers on the cruise. Also loved Amsterdam — beautiful city, lots to do, easy to get around, friendly folks. The Fjords were also extremely beautiful!!

Hi rest of the Cathyites!! “Men are just sick” because they want to be friends and want you to be happy?!? That’s pretty nutty alright!! I think she’s probably just acting out how nervous any of us would be if an old boy/girlfriend asked us to their wedding when we hadn’t seen them in years. I bet it’s a bit of a shockeroonie.
