Newlyweds Cathy and Irving navigate the treacherous waters of couple-hood. From pampered pets to prying parents, they’ve got a lot to learn! Wedding or not, it’s still all about Cathy - she personifies the young career woman and her typical daily obstacles. Ice cream, panic attacks, stress and love are all in a day’s work. We read, we identify, we laugh. Who could ask for more?
Cathy is the Everywoman. She deals with diets, self-esteem, in-laws, and letting her husband know that she is the boss. Everyone can identify with her shopping, bills, taxes, planning for the future and coping with her husband’s incessant computer golf games. Whether you are a newlywed, single, or have been married for decades, all will enjoy the daily predicaments of Cathy and Irving.

Alex should get down on his knees every day and thank the Lord that he’s out of THAT relationship.
Good morning, Aaron (I have arrived), Lightenup, Drs. Billy and KFG, GsMom, Legaleagle, and the rest of the “Cathy” nuts.
Have a nice Saturday.

What a mess these two are. And Cathy’s mom has her apron on to wipe Cathy’s tears (or spit up, whatever the case may be).
Good morning, legaleagle, Susan and Aaron!
It’s Saturday, so I got to sleep in a little… yay!

Nah, too easy. I don’t like being cruel any more than I have to.
Morning arrived Susan. Morning lightenup You weren’t here when I checked in before. Slept in just a little on Saturday?
Happy Saturday MOM!
My internal alarm didn’t have time to wake me up because my external alarm stood on my chest as usual at 7:00. He didn’t have to go out because we were already out. He and I will be adjusting to city life again in a few days.

Aaron and Dr. Billy: how lovely to be sleeping under the stars! Down South we are watching the progress of Hurricane Isaac with some trepidation. Greetings, Cathy clan!

@ncalifgirl58
What, you make your 30-something daughter sit in your lap so you can treat her as though she were five?

Life is sooo much better when you develop a sense of humor and some imagination.

I for one have missed hour-long Sunday morning phone calls to my mother since she passed. I moved away after 1 yr of marriage to the U.S. and our phone calls kept me happily connected to my family life back home. GOD BLESS ALL MOTHERS!!

It wouldn’t work in our family. I’m about three inches taller than Mum, my daughter is two inches taller than me – and my grandson is about six foot two and still growing!
We’d need a much bigger chair.

I have plenty of both, thank you. You however, come across as rude and crude.
I have a dislike for you. That’s pretty amazing actually because I can get along with anyone and everyone, as you see here daily.
The problem with you goes back to June 4 when Billy came around to tell the crew about my accident the night before. LOTS of nice people, some I’d not been introduced to yet, came back and wished me well. You, however, were only concerned about those kind people making a comment about the comic strip that day. You apparentlly have no heart. “Sorry about Aaron” 3 little but nice words, would have changed my mind 100% about you. So, like me to you, you’re just someone wasting space. C’est la vie. Not enough for me to lose sleep over.

???? You’re saying Aaron has no sense of humor and imagination? Wow. How are things on Mars?

What are moms for, huh?
The eye-roll streak continues. Pretty incredible, ain’t it?

Hey ncalifgirl!! Shhh… between you and me (and about 2 dozen other Cathy readers)… I have a list of the regulars written on a doc in my computer so I can copy and paste it. My memory is really not great at all, and I would feel badly if I forgot anyone, so this is my workaround for that. Feel free to borrow my method… :-)
