Newlyweds Cathy and Irving navigate the treacherous waters of couple-hood. From pampered pets to prying parents, they’ve got a lot to learn! Wedding or not, it’s still all about Cathy - she personifies the young career woman and her typical daily obstacles. Ice cream, panic attacks, stress and love are all in a day’s work. We read, we identify, we laugh. Who could ask for more?
Cathy is the Everywoman. She deals with diets, self-esteem, in-laws, and letting her husband know that she is the boss. Everyone can identify with her shopping, bills, taxes, planning for the future and coping with her husband’s incessant computer golf games. Whether you are a newlywed, single, or have been married for decades, all will enjoy the daily predicaments of Cathy and Irving.

Morning Fellow Cathy nuts, all is well in Florida, we had some rain on Sunday and It’s been clear here ever since. Got a bit of sunburn today and swollen ankles because too lazy to come in out of the sun even using SPF50…thought I’d be okay. Will have to be more careful tomorrow with the beach time. Eating like there’s no tomorrow, so will have to pay for that next week…back on the diet and no alcohol!!

This anti-aging obsession is totally insane.
The only alternative to growing old is dying young.
Good morning, Aaron (when you arrive), Billy, Lightenup, KFG, gmartin, Willi Nilli, and the rest of the “Cathy” nuts.

Susan is right 101%. How much of that junk has value vs. is a marketing gimmick. Lame. I wouldn’t touch Irving’s question with a 10-foot pole. Dunno why my mind went where it did. Yow! The answer to Cathy’s question is a resounding NO.
Morning Susan I guess we both arrived. :-) Morning lightenup. Hello morning readers.
Hullo Mom!

To answer their questions in the last panel…
Yes, Irving, if you treat her right, you and Cathy could “enhance cardio function” (wink, wink) every day.
Yes, Cathy, as long as you both rid of your crazy tendencies, you and he could have lots of laughs and fun together.
Good luck with that… eyeroll
Good morning, mollie! Glad you got out to the beach finally! I’m sorry about the sunburn – the sun can be pretty strong. Enjoy the good food!
Good morning, Susan! You are so right!!
Good morning, Aaron! Are you in NH now?
Hello to GsMom, Billy, KFG, rgcviper, lindz.coop, hendelca, Mona, serenasakitty, kittycatpawsare, gmforde, soonergal, lippyfish, Mai Tai, Willi Nilli, mollie, Hobbes and all the other Cathy nuts rolling around here today!

If they are this old now, why did they have a baby 10 years later than this strip?

I can believe that egocentric people like Cathy and Irving would fall for the stuff in panels 1 and 2. The junk has been scientifically proven (since this panel was written) not to work. The USFDA has ordered the food and makeup industries to stop making claims about their jazzed up products improving your health or making you look younger. As for the relationship part, that is still a mystery. lol

@summerdog
Because their ages have never been exactly stated, and because they’ve never really aged at all. It’s always been implied that they’re both around 30-35, and back in those days, 30 was seen as the start of middle age (as opposed to today’s mindset, which thinks of 50 as the new 30 — or at least, that’s what I started saying when I turned 50 last year!)

You’re only as old as you feel. ;)

Yes and Cathy would also be visiting her “skin care professional” for Botox and filler injections with an even greater impact on the wallet! Question to Aaron: how do you do the color type? And good morning fellow Cathyites!

Cathy . . . Irving . . . Could you both be anymore LAME I wonder?!?!?!?
HI, AARON & DR. BILLY!!!!!
Aaron: What’s got you all turned upside down these days?!? Is it Irving? Because that guy really does have a way of making ALL guys look kind of bad sometimes!!! ;-) Hope you both have a wonderful couple of weeks at the shore in NH. I’m sure that the peace and tranquility of the beach and ocean will be EXACTLY the kind of “medicine” your heart and soul needs to continue on with your recuperation!
WELCOME BACK, K.F.G.!!!
We’ve really MISSED you around here, girl!!!!! Sorry it’s been so rough on you the last few months . . . especially with the loss of your beloved Sadie. My sweet little dog is 10 years old and still acts like a puppy most of the time! I try not to think of what it’s going to be like when I’ll one day have to say good-bye to her . . . it’s just too upsetting for me. But hopefully it won’t happen for a really long time yet! My sympathies at your loss.
Good afternoon, lightenup, lightenupjr.,Hobbes (if you should happen to drop by), Susan, lindz.coop, rgcviper, gmforde, serenasakitty, kittycatpawsare, hendelca, Gator007, legaleagle48, Willi Nilli, mollie05, soonergal, AndiJ, summerdog and all the REST of the “Cathy” nuts joining us here today . . . whether commenting or just lurking around behind the scenes instead. Great to “see” you all again!

Hi Mom! Actually we’ll be quite far inland from the shore this time. The only time we get to the coast is in Maryland. We’ll be in southwestern NH, on a hilltop with apple orchards and (we can only hope) cooler days maybe with a light breeze.
And you should have a little discussion with your ‘boy’ Dr. Billy. He turned me on my head. Yeah I’m head over heels for my bud but he’s into intense pranking these days. I may have to resort to Pretty Please to get him to set me right again. I hate when he wins.
That's Dr. K.FG!! said, 11 months ago

re: your answer to Cathy’s question….you can possibly avoid frown and stress lines by laughing all the time and staying positive but we all know sadly …..that’s not true
