Newlyweds Cathy and Irving navigate the treacherous waters of couple-hood. From pampered pets to prying parents, they’ve got a lot to learn! Wedding or not, it’s still all about Cathy - she personifies the young career woman and her typical daily obstacles. Ice cream, panic attacks, stress and love are all in a day’s work. We read, we identify, we laugh. Who could ask for more?
Cathy is the Everywoman. She deals with diets, self-esteem, in-laws, and letting her husband know that she is the boss. Everyone can identify with her shopping, bills, taxes, planning for the future and coping with her husband’s incessant computer golf games. Whether you are a newlywed, single, or have been married for decades, all will enjoy the daily predicaments of Cathy and Irving.

Sorry but you’ll have to call your own moms, this one’s taken.

Maybe Mom can teach a class. Then people could eye roll en masse. So far I’ve successfully resisted the urge.
hi mom!
Morning Susan and happy birthday to you. Hopefully you see yesterday’s Cathy as well. Morning lightenup up again early this a.m.? Good morning Hobbes! Nice to finally see you in our playground. :-D
‘Nother 90+ day. The heat / humidity makes my new hip throb like a bass drum. :-( Billy, if you didn’t see last night’s late comments, is in Baltimore on a peer research expedition. Time for PT.

I agree with Aaron! While Cathy’s mom is telling her nice things to make her feel better, it sure isn’t going to help with her real problems. I’ll double your eyeroll, Aaron…
Good morning, Aaron! And thanks for letting us know about Billy! I wondered if he was working late or something. Tell him hi from me!
And how could I forget…
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, SUSAN!!
Hello to GsMom, Billy, legaleagle, rgcviper, lindz.coop, hendelca, Mona, serenasakitty, kittycatpawsare, gmforde, soonergal, lippyfish, Mai Tai, Willi Nilli, mollie and all the other Cathy nuts rolling around here today!

@ hendelca – Of course, we’ll wonder where you are! I still think about KFG, but I keep telling myself that she’s so busy with studying neurology that she has no time for comics, and she’ll be back one day.
So, I hope you have a wonderful long weekend, drive carefully and have fun at the BBQ!

@Hobbes
Thanks, Hobbes! You almost lost me with your first line, but then you redeemed yourself… :-) Besides I’ve read enough of your comments to know that you’re usually witty and not mean-spirited. I appreciate you coming over here to make sure we got your comment because I may not have checked it at C&H!
I post the most at Cathy because I trust everyone here to be kind, which I don’t always find at other comics. Usually when I post at other comics, it’s about the comic and not about another commenter (unless it really bugs me). So I do want to say that I find that your comments are insightful, fun and witty, and I always enjoy them. Thanks and hope to “see” you around!

Thanks, lightenup. I like your name, because it’s always a good reminder to everyone here.

Whatever you have to believe in order to get you through the trying experience of buying this year’s bathing suit, Cathy! I don’t believe in sugar-coating such obvious lies like that but, hey! If it makes you feel better about yourself to believe all that nonsense your mother is spouting, then more power to you!
HI AARON & DR. BILLY!
Aaron: Hope your p.t. is going well and that Dr. Billy’s peer expedition in Baltimore is too! Tell him “Hello!” from his “Cathy” family! :-)
hendelca: We’ll miss you here but hope you have a good time! Safe travels to you and your family!
Hobbes: So good to see you here on our little corner of the Go Comics universe for the 2nd day in a row! Tell me we’re going to see your happy, smiling (avatar) face in our comments section every day because that would certainly be a real treat! In case you don’t know, we’re a small but extremely friendly and welcoming little family here . . . always courteous and respectful of each other (unlike some of the people who hang out in those other forums). We like to mercilessly rib our dear friend, “Cathy” sometimes but it’s all in good fun and never meant maliciously. I hope you’ll stop by to “see” us for a smile every day!
Good afternoon to the 4 of you, lightenup, lightenupjr., K.F.G., Susan, lindz.coop, rgcviper, gmforde, serenasakitty, kittycatpawsare, Gator007, legaleagle48, Willi Nilli, mollie05, Molly mcgee, Violet, soonergal, AndiJ, J. Short and all the REST of the “Cathy” fanatics joining us here today. As always, good to “see” you all!

A special thanks to Aaron, lightenup, Hobbes, hendelca and Molly mcgee for your support yesterday. It’s very much appreciated! I read a lot of things in some of those comic forums that I don’t like but I try not to “feed the trolls” because they really seem to get off on all the negativity their comments stir up. But there’s one that really bugs me because he just continuously beats a dead horse so much that I felt like I had no choice but to finally confront him and his negativity. I didn’t expect my words to change his attitude — and it didn’t — but at least I got everything off my chest that I had been wanting to say for a while now. I don’t want to dislike and have cross words with anyone because life’s too short for that kind of nonsense but unfortunately, not everyone seems to share my “Peace On Earth, Goodwill Towards Man” attitude. When that happens, I feel forced to lower myself to their level in order to let my feelings of frustration be known so that I can (hopefully!) move on from that frustration. It doesn’t always work (because some people are just that mean and rude) but thankfully, it usually does and life goes on.

Signing in for my Mom to wish SUSAN NEWMAN a very HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!!
.
She says HI to all Cathy fans, and misses everyone. She checks in on weekends, and left a message last Sunday nite, but is afraid no one read it because it was so late.
Everyone take care

@Willi Nilli
No worries. A fair number of us go back to read the prior evening’s comments. I did read that your mom is away during the week. We’ll be glad to have her back. :-)
