Newlyweds Cathy and Irving navigate the treacherous waters of couple-hood. From pampered pets to prying parents, they’ve got a lot to learn! Wedding or not, it’s still all about Cathy - she personifies the young career woman and her typical daily obstacles. Ice cream, panic attacks, stress and love are all in a day’s work. We read, we identify, we laugh. Who could ask for more?
Cathy is the Everywoman. She deals with diets, self-esteem, in-laws, and letting her husband know that she is the boss. Everyone can identify with her shopping, bills, taxes, planning for the future and coping with her husband’s incessant computer golf games. Whether you are a newlywed, single, or have been married for decades, all will enjoy the daily predicaments of Cathy and Irving.

In my country we have a law against using your cell phone while you’re driving. You may talk on the phone if you use hands free. Even that is proven to take your mind off the road, texting is even worse, of course, so this is a NO, NO!

Of course, all that stuff will get delivered and it will all be the wrong size, wrong shape, or wrong color.

Then try to return it

I’m sure those little pictures on your cell phone will be an accurate portrayal of what you ordered too.

Why would he agree to go shopping if he was just going to do it online? Oh wait, he must of wanted to get away from the folks ;)
masnadies said, 2 months ago
If he’s like my husband, he either has an exact brand and size that he always buys the same thing as the old ones wear out, or buys whatever flat front pants in his size are on sale. I don’t remember him every trying anything on or returning anything. So for guys like that, they may as well buy online.
But in this case, he was supposed to be changing his look, in which case in-person shopping really should make sense.

Talking on your cellphone while driving is a no-no. Texting or using the Internet while driving is a BIG no-no. Doing all this stuff while sitting in a parking lot is perfectly okay. Get off Irving’s case (for this, anyway).

Just what I needed first thing in the morning–an iPhone product placement. I hope they’re getting good money for it.

To a man going through a lot of stores and trying on clothes is like a sentence in purgatory. Women love it and to order it all online takes all the fun out of it. I hope for Irving’s sake everything that comes is what he wanted and fits.

A couple of years ago, my husband and I went shopping and he swore all the sizes were mismarked as everything was too small!! After about the 4th place, he angrilly agreed to try a bigger size. They fit!!
The only things he can order online are books or dvd’s.
One size fits all!!!

rbethune1 - In my comics archive, there are over 100 comics about the iphone.
Doubt they paid a penny for any of them.

I go to Border’s at times and the last time I went I reserved what I wanted, when I was told it was ready, I went there, picked up my order, paid for it, and left.

@Susan001, I wasn’t going to admit it, but I’m a woman and I hate clothes shopping too. But if I don’t do it myself, the clothes don’t fit, or they’re the wrong colour, or something.
The part I hate most is trying on item after item. But I have a cousin who can hold up a blouse and look at it, then look at me, then say (accurately) whether it will fit me or not. Unfortunately she lives about 700 miles away, so we don’t see each other too often, and when we do, we don’t always have time to go shopping.

I wish I knew your cousin, RinaFarina! I too, am a woman who hates clothes shopping - especially the trying on part.
I don’t like buying clothes on-line, since it is a pain to return them.

Just saw Irving with his new haircut. I know I’m going to be labeled a jerk or worse for this but this is my opinion…. White men should never shave our heads. When we do I always think the same thing. We look like skinheads.
I did that one time when I was 11. It was three days after school ended. I thought it would be great for summer. After I did it I thought I looked like a racist. My dad teased me about it all summer. Never again.

Well I don’t like trying on a whole lot of stuff but I do have to try things on before buying them since I don’t want the pain in the neck of returning them. I wouldn’t ever buy anything online or through a catalogue.

As far as I can see Irving has order yes but he is parked and car not running and Cathy is ready to go.
For me when I have the money I have to try on clothes to see if they work. I feel I should be able to slip them on and off. I am not petie but a plus size. The sad part is the length of the slacks I have to make sure long enough. I do have a nice skirt and top for job interviews if and when they come. Bed time goodnight

I am a woman and I HATE shopping. I do it when I have to because, with a few exceptions, I have to try on clothes to get a good fit. It’s because women’s clothes sizes are not standard. Hubby on the other hand can go to a catalogue, put in what waist size, what inseam, etc and everything fits.
