Newlyweds Cathy and Irving navigate the treacherous waters of couple-hood. From pampered pets to prying parents, they’ve got a lot to learn! Wedding or not, it’s still all about Cathy - she personifies the young career woman and her typical daily obstacles. Ice cream, panic attacks, stress and love are all in a day’s work. We read, we identify, we laugh. Who could ask for more?
Cathy is the Everywoman. She deals with diets, self-esteem, in-laws, and letting her husband know that she is the boss. Everyone can identify with her shopping, bills, taxes, planning for the future and coping with her husband’s incessant computer golf games. Whether you are a newlywed, single, or have been married for decades, all will enjoy the daily predicaments of Cathy and Irving.

Allow me to add to that, Marg: cats have slaves and no master.

Is it true, generally speaking, that women are cat people and men are dog people? And why?

Irving will never be the king of his castle as long as the mother queen resides in his kingdom.
funnyfan928 said, 5 months ago
Heck, he isn’t king of his castle when the mother queen isn’t there, then it’s queen Cathy who runs the kingdom.

In our family we are all cat people. We’ve always had cats. Our grown son and his wife have a cat, also.

Women are usually cat people because women value independence. Men are usually dog people because men value subservience.

Dogs have masters, cats have staff. I love both dogs and cats but I’ve always had cats because they’re easier to care for.

My husband was more of a cat person than me, but he and his cat managed to convert me early on. Now we’re on Feline #2, who thinks he’s really a dog, which I feel is the best of both worlds. ;)

police will soon be called to quell a domestic disturbance that escalated into gunfire when
Cathy, having reached the end of her rope, pulls out the 357 magnum hidden under the couch and starts blazing away….
as she is taken away handcuffed, she keeps screaming:
“ACCCCK!”

We’re dog people (only have a 1 week long tolerance for cats). I’ve always been a dog person, always will be. And, I prefer the REALLY big dogs too. But then again, I’m 1/2 frat boy too. :P

Cats DO rule -
but get rid of the in-laws –they are worse than toxic waste…

I grew up with cats and dogs but living in an apartment/condo cats are far easier and cheaper to care for then dogs. Cats are mostly self-maintenance and dogs you have to go out all times of the day and night for them to do their business. It’s much easier for a cat to get on your lap or sleep on your bed then a dog. You don’t see people dressing up their cats as much as you do their dogs. Though growing up I did put a bib and baby booties on my cat; she didn’t look very happy but I took a picture. I would never do that again. I understand putting rain slickers on some types of dogs but I’m not for dressing up your dog in general. I think it’s a waste of money but each to their own. As I said yesteday people that don’t have children turn their animals into their children. I’ve spent far more on my child so I don’t need to lavish on my cat too.

These in-laws are getting really annoying to the point I don’t want to read this strip anymore. MOVE ON!

I used to prefer dogs, but somehow ended up with two cats. (I’m sure I’ll appreciate it during hurricane season since they won’t need to go out!)

Saw this somewhere:
The Ancient Egyptians worshipped cats as gods. Cats have never forgotten.
