Taco – a carrot keeps draining energy to the leaves after being uprooted, so a myth about things keep growing a bit after death is understandable. So just because you found out – most likely by reading about it elsewhere – doesn’t give you the rights ton be a jerk.

Naw, the first amendment gives us all the right to be jerks. We aren’t REQUIRED to exercise that right, but we have it.
Besides, I thought the leaves kept sending energy to the roots until they died. Maybe it’s a shared thing.

The skin sinks and shrinks back, making hair (and nails) look longer.

“The nights grow shorter towards the middle of summer.” “Grow” meaning, in that contest, “become”. Most words have more than one meaning.

Sorry, Keith, but you really need to get over your “correct grammar” fetish. Language isn’t constrained by arbitrary rules – let alone arbitrary rules that were laid down a couple of hundred years ago based on Latin and Greek, and flawed even at the time. And while I’m not specifically meaning you by the following: There’s nothing more annoying in my book than being lectured on language by someone who not only doesn’t understand how language works, but thinks that the rules they learned by rote in school are “right”, and that their English is “better” by consequence.

Taco, speaking in generalities, we ALL have a ten year old’s IQ, as the IQ is pretty well established by that age and doesn’t change much.

Now anybody with a 10 yr. old’s knowledge should be able to be able to understand why.
