My favorite line of all time from this strip was spoken several years ago. Susan had a guard dog that Clyde regarded as vicious. When Clyde cautioned Susan about this, she was surprised that he cared enough about her welfare to say anything. His parting remark was, “That dog need Jesus!”

I think he could be a successful T.V. preacher. Like Flip Wilson’s Rev. Leroy and “The Church of What’s Happening Now”. Flip was really funny.

Unfortunately, I personally know SEVERAL people who are Christians just like Clyde. Everything is forgiven. So they do whatever they want, no matter who gets hurt.

    Clyde is a Clydian
And Jesus loves all and offers redemption

    Clyde would benefit eternally

    But not limited to scroundrels
i read once there were more people who prayed than there were people who thought anybody was listening
(There are also more who believe the government is covering up the existence of UFOs than believe in the existence of UFOs. People are interesting.)

It would seem to be a contradiction to me. Perhaps different polls, because the people who believe the government are covering up UFOs obviously believe in UFOs. so that number would be equal at least. Now I could see different polls having contradicting figures, that happens all the time.

Forgiven and forgotten does not necessarily mean unpunished.

If it had been reasonable, I would not have mentioned it.
Both polls were of the same people: praying atheists and UFO disbelievers who thought goverenment was covering up the existence of what they didn’t believe existed in the first place.
Another poll showed 53% of adults polled claimed to believe in Santa Claus. This tells me folk don’t mind lying to pollsters.
