When I was in high school, my friends and I would imitate some of the Stooges stuff. Some dialogue and Curly’s antics. It was a lot of fun. I still enjoy watching them. Calling Dr. Howard, Dr. Fine, Dr. Howard.

Did anyone reread books that you loved as a child? I used to dote on Albert Payson Terhune’s books, like Lad of Sunnybank Farm and Treve. When I reread Treve as an adult, I perceived that Mr. Terhune was a misogynistic jerk.

Popeye was never married, and I’m pretty sure he never beat Olive Oyl.

Teletubbies is safe only if you can stop your brains from dribbling out your ears. Lots of shows that are great for small children drive parents up the wall.

I never let my children watch Teletubbies because it was nonsense. They watched Sesame Street.

You all know that cartoons are not real, right? There is NOTHING to be learned from cartoons beyond the fact that explosions can not permanently harm you.

That’s a pretty important life lesson. That, and the fact that as long as you ignore gravity it won’t affect you, and you can paint holes in walls…

And that is why “over sensitive” people can’t enjoy cartoons.

I used to date a woman who thought the Three Stooges films were documentaries!
