I’ve never noticed race. It’s the Left that keeps saying I do.

I think justice Ginsburg nailed it in her dissent. Just because you’re dry doesn’t mean it’s stopped raining; it means you’ve been using an umbrella.

“Today, in the shadow of the Supreme Court’s decision to cripple the protections of the Voting Rights Act, the state of Texas reacted by implementing a voter ID law and a redistricting map, both of which were previously withheld under the civil rights legislation.”

You see, maybe that’s the problem. You don’t notice when people of color are sent away from the polling place or forced to stand in line for hours or any number of other little violations that happen disproportionately to people who aren’t white. That is the key though – you don’t see because you don’t want to. And then you squawk when others do notice.

Iif people are so upset with this ruling, why aren’t they pressing for the VRA to be extended to the entire nation? Seems to me that racism has never been limited to some borders drawn in the 1960s.

My favorite comment on the decision was put this way: “The 1965 Voting Rights Act was ruled unconstitutional by a vote of four-and-three-fifths to four.”

You need to go back to civics class. What we are left with is a ‘start over’.

As with all comments on the case from the left, this is utterly delusional, with no basis in reality whatsoever. But that IS the primary tactic of the left: Lie, lie, lie, then lie some more. Slander and libel, smear tactics and the race card.

Aw come on, I thought this was one of the ethnic strips that did not get on a soap box. Please do not ruin the strip.

Hmm, yet your comment does exactly what you accuse the “left” of.
DaBoogadie is correct: Congress could start over, but the current Congress is hopelessly dysfunctional, with the House endlessly voting to repeal Obamacare and other (tea)partisan items that won’t every become law, while refusing to even put together a budget committee, while in the Senate, endless abuse of the procedural fillibuster also creates legislative paralysis. So there is no chance a VRA could be created in such a climate of dysfunction and obstructionism.

With each session of Congress eroding our freedoms more and more, I’m happy Congress is “hopelessly dysfunctional”. It gives me hope.

OK, now the Lefties among you can tell me how delusional I am.

After Bush took away so many of our freedoms there aren’t many left to mess with are there?
