    My honey is thinking about moving. His neighborhood is much like Lemont’s, probably worse.

    Yeah, and go to jail for not doing anything except for taking measures to defend yourself.

    Number one suspect in any break-in is Clyde.

    How’s his poor kid going to get any sleep, with all that going on?

    “A man’s home is his castle” is not American law. It supposedly is in force (or was) in England but never in America. There were some interesting trials involving ‘mantraps’ were people tried to use that as their defense. The only time you have a right to harm another person is if you are actually threatened with harm. Shooting a trespasser when no harm has been actually perceived will land the shooter in jail. Defending yourself has very precise parameters.

    First thing you should do is stop hanging out with Clyde.

    @Redkaycei Repoc

    Your statement is overly broad and as a result, inaccurate.

    Not nearly as “overly broad” and “inaccurate” as olddog1’s initial statement.

    If you reasonably, rationally believe your life or the lives of others are threatened, you can defend yourself and others. Unfortunately, when a person has a lethal weapon on him, his “reasonability” threshhold is much lower.
    Thus far this month, in my town, 5 of my neighbors have been killed. It is June 7th.
    We need to get at the root cause of the violence, but until we do, we indeed must protect ourselves.

    Most people around here don’t lock their doors or cars. The only time I do it is if I go away for a few days……When I go to the big city, (Kalamazoo), I usually lock my car, but it really isn’t necessary….

    As many pointed out, Clyde is the number one criminal breaking into Lemont’s home. I don’t any of that will keep him out, but it did make Lemont’s wallet lighter and easier to carry.
