Give the man a sandwich; he’s done his job admirably.

LOL
My brother once saw a sign.
“Will endure rude comments for money.”
My brother gave the guy money because he thought that was funny. Strangely, the man holding the sign was not amused.

As Uncle Don used to say, in an odd kind of lightweight-bandit compassion, “F### ‘em; give ‘em a buck!” (If they spend it on wine, or their favorite drug, or food, that’s their business.)
And I don’t lend money; I give it away. If it ever comes back, it’s manna. But less lately, since the layoff in ‘04!

“Invaluable” is one of those words that makes me wonder why it exists; it basically means “valuable,” but it sounds like the opposite. Kind of like “flammable” and “inflammable.”
