Darrin Bell’s Candorville is an insightful look at family, community and race through the eyes of Lemont Brown, a young black writer. Bell pulls no punches and delves into even the most controversial of issues. The wit and humor of the strip will draw you in.

3hourtour - Your comment made me think of This Comic

Doc, once again, I enjoy your observations. I was struck very much by that Soup to Nutz strip in this morning’s Courant. I read them and all the others published every day in the Courant as well as a great number of comix here at GoComics. Often my daily philosophy forms around several of the strips I follow.

and yes 3hourtour, that comment would have me scratching my head for a good long time too.

You know, the really amazing thing is that I can come in here (“Here” being the DU forums public wing) and flat out warn you in plain English not to be complacent and assume that the meme about “Town-Hallers” being bought and paid for is factually accurate; and you’ll STILL cling to your meme.
I could post PICTURES of the LBJ Inauguration and the 9/12 march side by side and you’ll STILL insist that there were only 70,000 people there. And 3hourtour … You’re perfect to wrap this up with… YES… Assuming your story actually happened, I am SURE that the person you spoke to actually thought that a Jewish carpenter that lived almost 18 centuries before the Constitutional Convention was LITERALLY a President of the United States. There’s no WAY that the person could have been a Vet who was making the comment along the same lines as “Since Christ was a Corporal”; military slang for “Very Long Time”.
So good job folks… Keep doing what you’re doing. You’re making OUR work far easier than it otherwise would be.

Only if your work is marginalizing yourselves.
According to the poll I heard tossed around on the news last week, 1 in 5 who called themselves “Republicans” BEFORE the townhall scream-fests NO LONGER self-identify as Republicans.

Makes the point that the town hall ranters weren’t bought and paid for. Otherwise there might be some demand for them.
