The only element that rivals Hydrogen for abundance in our Universe: Stupidity, and it’s gaining ground.
Actually, I’d rather all immigrants, legal or not, along with visitors and tourists, had the usual vaccinations and primary health care (which many of us don’t), since we don’t want pockets of disease in the Barrio or anywhere else. Public Health is - *so* public.

Those of us who have actually READ that RIDICULOUS bill, and apparently Darrin Bell is not on that list; are fully aware that in fact this monstrosity WILL kill Grandma. Not because Dr Mengele is waiting at the train station of course, but rather, because you can’t avoid rationing when you have more takers than contributors. And rationing means that there WILL be a Board that WILL make decisions about who gets what treatments. And guess where Grandma & Grandpa fall on their list of priorities. Oh wait… you don’t have to guess. You have England & Canada to look to as demonstrations…………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………… Oh and, illegal aliens…? Well it doesn’t do much good to insert a paragraph that purports to bar illegals if you keep voting down (in committee) EVERY attempt to insert language that will allow existing mechanisms like SAVE (Systematic Alien Verification for Entitlements) to become part of the bill. AND there is specific language that essentially means that anyone here illegally for a little over 7 months can get coverage……………………………………………………………………………………………………………………….. The only STRAW MEN being bandied about are from the Democrat side of the house, where they distort legitimate complaints into silliness in order to try to convince the general public that the ACTUAL complaints are the fake ones that were created by the Democrats.

Sorry, I can’t take your political rant seriously if you can’t even get the name of the DemocratIC Party right.
And I find it interesting that all your complaints are based not on what’s actually in the bill, but your own assumptions regarding what’s NOT in the bill. Not really a convincing argument, partner.

Is there a provision in this bill for stupid people?

It’s not just the “scarecrow” who needs a brain, it’s anyone who listens to him.

It’s the DEMOCRAT Party, not the DEMOCRATIC Party. The 2nd is a process, the first is a party.
Republicans are in the the Republican Party.
The Greens are in the Green Party.
The Libertarians are in the Libertarian Party, and;
Democrats are in the Democrat Party.
You don’t like it? Tough.Find a new party.
Also, as I pointed out in my initial post, I DID read the bill. Which is more than I can say for the idiots who are pushing the thing, and that INCLUDES the Communist-in-Chief. Unless you wish to claim that he DID read it, in which case I can cite page & paragraph to prove he’s a liar.
Apparently, you’re so used to spouting talking points that you didn’t even both to read enough of my post to notice that I DID read the bill.I also pay attention to what the committees are doing.
ALL OF WHICH is more than I can say for the Democrat party membership.

What happened to the emergency requiring a fix for Social Security? I’m very confused about this issue. For several years we were told that Social Security was becoming insolvent, and that if nothing were done to change things, some of us, and all of our children and grand-children would have no Social Security benefits to draw. As far as I can recall, nothing has been done to fix it, but health care has now replaced Social Security and become the next emergency issue that has to be fixed. Why are we not fixing things in the order they arise? Surely Social Security is at least as important as health care, at least in terms of getting votes that is, and that’s simply what this whole deal is about. It’s about getting enough votes to maintain, or regain power in our government, and not about doing what’s best for the citizens. Term limits NOW.

And I suppose Mr. Bell forgot about the “Some People” who said Republicans were going to take away old peoples’ Social Security benefits, and leave them to die.

If you paid as much attention to what’s going on as you like people to THINK you do, you would know precisely which year Social Security will become insolvent. But why would you pay attention to something that will profoundly affect you? After all, you will only shovel money into it for years before it implodes.
