Calvin sounds so happy when he says he is leaving!
Whitehorse is one-and-half thumbs away from Chagrin Falls.
Get one of those globes the size of a ping-pong ball, it’ll take even less time.
i’d be surprised if even HALF of americans know where the yukon is on a map.
Today’s Random Thoughts
Of course the Yukon is close to the United States. It’s just 2 inches away (on a desktop globe).
Good thinking remembering to bring a space helmet. You’ll need it trying to breath the thin air on top of Mount Logan.
A dart gun might bring down an Alaska Yukon moose, NOT !!
You could get there yesterday if you used your TimeMachine.
“Captain Maim”. My curiosity is piqued with Calvin’s choice of comic books. Though, maybe it’s best that I tread lightly when it comes to that one!
Technically the Yukon is directly adjacent to the United States. (Alaska.)
We used to get dispatched that way when I was working – "What do you mean, you can’t get there in three minutes. The zip codes are right next to each other. It’s only two miles from you. It’s a different state? There is a river in between? Isn’t there a bridge? (drive time -45 minutes one way to the bridge)
A friend of mine did a year as a grad student in Chapel Hill. She thought she could go to Alaska for the weekend. I said, “Yes, you can, if you fly.” No, she meant to take the bus. She couldn’t seem to realise there was half the globe between the two points!
Hobbes is obviously just trolling Calvin, who I’m sure just took it hook, line, and sinker!
@orinoco womble: a Dukie would have told her where to go.
I hope Calvin remembers to pack some long johns.
He has a toboggan in there?
I always thought Calvin and his parents lived in a big city and now we find that they live in a small town on the Canadian border in the state of Washington. Maybe Sumas.
Does Calvin have a passport?
90% of my knowledge of the Yukon is thanks to Carl Barks!
Scale Hobbs, you must consider scale!
Word to the wise, Calvin: Always use a packlist when preparing for any expedition.
Oh, to be young and without perspective!
My uncle drives from Florida to Alaska and back again every year for his vacation. He loves the drive as much as the fishing in Alaska.
Follow the ALCAN north. Drive to the edge of the world, then hang a right.
