I’m not in Thailand, but I can certainly get behind that sentiment. Have a good Wan Dek.

He is in a sullen mood so deep even the joy blasting of cartoons on tv give his wounded soul no succor.

No, I just did a little quick reading up on Children’s Day in Thailand. I do have an interest in many cultures in the East, and in and around the Pacific. I lived in Hawaii from age 11 (almost 12) to 15. That was in the late sixties, though. I would like to someday visit Southeast Asia and Indonesia. (My guitars, coffee, and shoes were all made there!)

I think I once read somewhere that the word ’Thai" just means “people”, or “the people”. Is that true?
