Bill Watterson's Calvin and Hobbes has been a worldwide favorite since its introduction in 1985. The strip follows the richly imaginative adventures of Calvin and his trusty tiger, Hobbes. Whether a poignant look at serious family issues or a round of time-travel (with the aid of a well-labeled cardboard box), Calvin and Hobbes will astound and delight you.

My city hit a record: lowest average of freezing I’ve EVER seen.

re: denver
I believe it. 5 years of record ice at the poles. Last february, a Soviet-era nuclear icebreaker was used to free trapped ships in the Baltic. Made the European news, but not here, of course, where they push global warming. Little Ice Age, here we come…

Here in NW usa, it snows frequently, but in my town, it snowed 4 days, at least!(most was maybe 19 days of snow in Nov-Dec)

And here in my little spot of the southern hemisphere we are experiencing above average sizzling temperatures after several weeks of exceptionally high rainfall. Happy New Year all Calvin and Hobbes fans.

Ah, yeah, right.
On this planet, at sea level, average freezing temperature is still 0 C (32 F).
In Denver it may be slightly higher.

So what’s the freezing point of water in Denver? Actually, it might be lower than 0 C (32 F). Boiling point would be lower than 100 C (212 F)

You might be waiting quite a while for your Little Ice Age. LIke you, I was sceptical, remembering the 1970s surmises before hard science started to get substantial data.
Then I read very thorough and fully researched high-level reports, like this one from your USA NOAA:
“November 2012 also marks the 36th consecutive November and 333rd consecutive month with global temperature higher than the long-term average. The last month with a below average temperature was February 1985, nearly 28 years ago.”

Small regional variations do not invalidate a global report.

OK, so, if Calvin and Hobbes lived in Denver instead of Ohio, would they be colder or warmer in today’s final panel?
