Bill Watterson's Calvin and Hobbes has been a worldwide favorite since its introduction in 1985. The strip follows the richly imaginative adventures of Calvin and his trusty tiger, Hobbes. Whether a poignant look at serious family issues or a round of time-travel (with the aid of a well-labeled cardboard box), Calvin and Hobbes will astound and delight you.

Can you think of anything related to frustration that comes in a ‘Pack’, ‘Filtered’ or ‘Unfiltered’?

I can remember the days when a dime bought a pack of 20 candy cigarettes. The real things were a whopping 50 cents.

Candy cigarettes were branded “Fags” in Australia (a slang word for cigarettes). These days, WRONG in so many ways !!

This was drawn before smoking became socially unacceptable. I went to school in the 60s and most of my (menopausal, female) teachers smoked. When they gave us the yearly anti-tobacco lesson in Health class, someone would always ask, “Well, Mrs X, why do you smoke if it’s bad for you?” and we would inevitably hear the reply, “We’ve all got to die sometime anyway.”

I wonder what her brand is/was? Pall Mall? Raleigh? Camel?
I smoked mostly Raleigh unfiltered for the last year that I smoked. It may have been my response to the new “low tar” cigarettes that had come out. I had tried them, just to discover that I smoked twice as much. I switched to the stronger stuff in order to taper off. After getting down to about 5 or less @ day they started to lose their appeal.
